CURRENT NEWS

Happy Fourth of July! As the month famous for fireworks begins, production on the latest Saint Euphoria Pictures / All For George Productions film "Cave Women on Mars" continues in earnest. Roughly 75% of principal photography is complete, with only seven more shoot days remaining. The current plan is to release "Cave Women on Mars" sometime in the fourth quarter of 2007 and immediately begin production on the next slated film, "The Canoe Cops in Curse of the Haunted Isle."

The official website for "It Came From Another World!" has been reworked and integrated completely into the Shadow Creek Studios website. This allows for centralization of information, thus making it easier for Saint Euphoria Pictures fans to find everything they need in one convenient location!

In an unprecedented feat, "It Came From Another World!" and "The Monster of Phantom Lake" both pulled in awards at the  Kansas City Big Damn Film Festival. "It Came From Another World!" took the top spot at the audience-rated event earning it a "Best of Fest" Audience Choice award. "The Monster of Phantom Lake" took second as one of the festival's top three audience-rated films and earned its fourth Audience Choice award. Both films will appear at the Big Damn Film Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 21st. If you're in the area, come on down and do your part to help "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and "It Came From Another World!" continue their winning streaks!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

In association with Saint Euphoria Pictures and All for George Productions, Shadow Creek Studios is proud to announce what promises to be THE collector's item for the 2007 holiday season: the "2008 Girls of Shadow Creek Studios Vintage Pin-up Calendar!" This 12-month calendar features some of the stunningly beautiful actresses from such Saint Euphoria Pictures releases as "The Monster of Phantom Lake," "It Came From Another World!" and "Cave Women on Mars" including: Lindsey Holmes (Penny), Rachel Grubb (Amy, Hagra), Shannon McDonough (Julie Ann Saint Marie), Brooke Lemke (Eina), Alana Bloom (Orla) and Emily Fradenburgh (Gorga). We'll keep you updated (and thoroughly teased) as the calendar comes together over the next couple months.

CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH (with guest columnist Mike Cook!)

The Undertaker and His Pals (1966)
Starring Ray Dannis, Warrene Ott.
Directed by T.L.P. Swicegood.

Is it a slasher pic? Is it a slapstick comedy? Is it possible to be both? This incredibly twisted, but strangely humorous piece of cheap, moldy cheese tells the story of a motorcycle-riding undertaker and two guys from the local cafe -- named, appropriately, The Greasy Spoon -- who team up to score business for the former and menu items for the latter by hacking up beautiful women with names like Sally Lamb. (You'll never order 'leg of lamb' again!) Incredibly bad acting, horrible puns, gruesome violence, cannibalism and a Clark Gable look-alike all combine with nonexistent production values to make a film that is so far beyond bad it goes past good and all the way back to bad again. Twice. And that's what makes it fun to watch!  – Mike Cook

TIDBITS AND TRIVIA

This month we focus on the Canoe Cops, Sven and Gustav!
  • Canoe Cop Gustav used to work for the CIA as an undercover government assassin.
  • According to a scene deleted from "It Came From Another World!," Sven joined the Canoe Corps because he "liked the uniform."
  • The Canoe Cops' trusty canoe is called the U.S.S. Don'Cha'Know.
  • Sven and Gustav work for the ultra-elite Phantom Lake Canoe Corps.
  • Sven and Gustav are both expert trackers.
  • Sven and Gustav have had quite a few interesting adventures including getting stuck in a sinkhole, breaking up an international beaver poaching operation, uncovering a Communist plot to overthrow the American government, and aiding in the destruction of the evil King of the Universe/Ruler of All Cosmos.
  • Both M. Scott Taulman (Sven) and Mike Cook (Gustav) were selected to play their respective roles after answering an open casting call for "The Monster of Phantom Lake."

WHAT ARE THEY UP TO NOW?

Here's what some of the actors & crew are up to this month:
  • In July, Shannon McDonough (Julie Ann Saint Marie) continues work on Ric McCloud's "Unholy Reunion." In a couple of weeks, she gets to ride a 4 wheeler for a scene in the film, and is very excited because she's never ridden one before. She is also preparing for her role in Jason Schumacher's "The Telephone Game," which will begin production in August. She recently accepted the role of Lindsey in Jarrod Crook's currently untitled action/comedy film which will film next spring, and is excited to reprise her role as Mrs. Julie Ann Saint Marie-Jackson in the next Professor Jackson film (possibly) early next year. Shannon looks forward to shooting "The Girls of Shadow Creek" vintage pin-up calendar at the end of the month, and has put together a sexy little number for it. Be sure to keep your eyes out for the release! Lastly, she just got her "It Came From Another World!" T-shirt featuring her as Julie Ann Saint Marie, and can't wait to wear it around town and feel like a movie star.
  • Justen Overlander (Jonathan) still owes Michael Kaiser (The Monster) a high school graduation card. Justen promises it'll get there, even if it ends up being a college graduation card.
  • Rachel Grubb (Amy/Hagra) is in the middle of filming "Cave Women On Mars" and has been cast in a supporting role as a ghost in the feature length horror film, "13 Hours In A Warehouse" by Dav Kaufman. Rachel recently directed the first scene of "Why Am I in a Box?" with Larry Laverty and Matthew Feeney, and the rest of the film will be cast in August. "Why Am I in a Box?" is the first feature film by Silent-But-Deadly Productions, a female production company formed by Rachel, Brooke Lemke and Heather Amos. Rachel is also looking forward to the premiere of "Group Home" on Thursday, September 6th at the Riverview Theatre with her "Cave Women on Mars" costars Dan Sjerven and Brooke Lemke.
  • Michael Kaiser (The Monster/Ojjo/Martian Slave) is excited to have completed his two scenes in "Cave Women on Mars" including his first speaking, non-costumed role as the hunted Martian slave. He was also recently accepted to Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is looking forward to moving out and meeting college girls who might be impressed by his acting resume.
  • Mike Cook (Gustav) has returned to the Fanny Hill Dinner Theatre in Eau Claire for a 6-month engagement spanning three shows. During July, he will also be wrapping up his role as Larry in the feature film "Health Freaks," and Mike is also proud to announce that "A Showdown at the OK Cinema," a short film he helped produce for the "WaZoo Show," was accepted at the Giggleshorts International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada.
  • Brooke Lemke (Eina) continues to stay busy. She's currently in production on "Cave Women on Mars" and is having immeasurable amounts of fun. In June, Brooke also appeared in "Horror House" as a featured extra and as a principal in an experimental film by Jason Shumacher. With seven projects on Brooke's plate for the rest of the summer and fall, she won't be slowing down anytime soon. Projects include producing, directing, writing, researching, acting -- and moving to a new apartment. The biggest news for Brooke continues to be the progress on her up-and-running production company Silent-But-Deadly Productions with Rachel Grubb and Heather Amos.
  • M. Scott Taulman (Sven) will be be performing in "Our Town" with His Girl Friday Productions from July 6th thru July 28th at the Theatre Garage in Minneapolis. Also, it should be noted that "MegaStorm," in which he acted and Leigha Horton (Stephanie Yates) cast (with their team Climaxx Productions), was picked as one of the twelve top films for the Minneapolis 48 hour film festival held this past month. As a result, it will be on the "Best Of Minneapolis 48 Hour Film Festival" DVD.
  • Josh Craig (Professor/Director Jackson/Captain Jackson) is recovering from one too many falls during the fight choreography while filming the finale of "Cave Women on Mars." He continues to actively promote "It Came From Another World!" along with all Shadow Creek Studios titles, and has eagerly started putting together bonus features for the future "Cave Women on Mars" DVD. Other than that, he is enjoying watching his 5.5 month old son Liam and is working on future Shadow Creek Studios scripts with fellow producer/writer Christopher R Mihm.
  • Writer/Director Christopher R. Mihm continues to direct "Cave Women on Mars," promote "It Came From Another World!" and plan for "The Canoe Cops in Curse of the Haunted Isle." He barely has time to breathe beyond that!
