As the hot summer months drag on, production of the next Mihmiverse film, "Danny Johnson Saves The World," is well underway! Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and his superb cast (all of whom, to date, are under the age of 12!) have been hard at work filming the kid-centric adventure that's being described as "1950s science fiction" meets "The Goonies!"
If you have yet to see it, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm was kind enough to provide the first official still from the film! Check it out below!
Based on this intriguing photo (featuring Alice Mihm as Danny's little sister Evelyn), a specific question enters our collective heads: What EXACTLY is young Danny going to be saving the world from!? Should everything come together production-wise, we'll all find out at the world premiere next year!

Following the overwhelming success of previous contribution programs for writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's last five films, contributor credits are NOW AVAILABLE for the film!
For each $25.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name* of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film, a customized, frameable document certifying their participation in the program and a choice of one (1) copy of the finished film on DVD OR one (1) collector's ticket to the film's world premiere!
ALSO, for the first time ever, additional DVDs of the film and/or premiere tickets may be pre-ordered as "add-ons" ($10 each) with the purchase of at least one credit.
Contributor credits can even be given as gifts!
If you'd like to contribute to "Danny Johnson Saves The World," visit the contributor page at SaintEuphoria.com by clicking HERE!
*A single credit is defined as the name of one (1) person or corporate entity. Any credit requiring the word "and," an ampersand (&), and/or a comma (except when part of a legal company name) will constitute multiple credits and MUST BE paid for separately.
NOTE: The contributor program is an "equal exchange" program, which means specifically that those participating have NO SAY in the decisions or actions taken by anyone involved in the actual production of the film and are NOT entitled to ANY possible future profits earned by the film, derivative works, and/or merchandise created for or featuring elements from the film. Becoming an contributor does not entitle the participant to ANY ownership WHATSOEVER of the finished film or associated elements.

This was just too cool NOT to share!
Check out this amazing photo taken taken by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm outside the Colonial Theatre at the recent 2014 BlobFest in Phoenixville, PA! According to him, the event (which, as you can see from the marquee, featured a double feature of classic B-movie "The Blob" and Mr. Mihm's "The Giant Spider") was an all-around success and "one of the best classic film events in the country!"
Portions of "The Blob" (including the infamous "running from the movie theater" scene) were filmed at the Colonial Theatre.

The latest episode of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast is now available for download!
The fabled, long-gestating Phantom Lake Paddle Girls episode of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast has FINALLY come together and it is every bit as glorious as any Mihmivite could hope for! Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm takes over full hosting duties from Rhuby (who dons her "guest" hat) and, along with partner-in-crime Hater, delves deep into the four actresses who portray the Paddle Girls in "The Giant Spider:" Cherie "Rhuby" Gallinati, Kira Pontiff, Ann Segar and Melissa Dirtzu!
As one would expect, the episode quickly devolves into risqué (though hilarious) territory as the "Paddle Girls Home Game" is invented, it is revealed which of the four was "only in it to nab a Canoe Cop" and much, much more! PLUS, a very special guest stops by! Don't miss it!

Day the World Ended (1955)
Directed by Roger Corman Starring Richard Denning and Lori Nelson

The world is decimated by an atomic war and a small band of disparate survivors huddle together in a remote mountain cabin. Tensions run high amongst them as they desperately attempt to find meaning in the aftermath of humanity's destruction. Though a perfect set-up for a deep examination of the human condition and the cold war, this is ultimately a Roger Corman movie. Thus, all depth is quickly (though lovingly) replaced by cheesy monster suits and even more dubious science when, naturally, the irradiated fallout causes anyone exposed to large enough doses to mutate into three-eyed creatures with telepathic abilities that want nothing more than to be wild, mutant animals. Seriously, that's the plot -- and it's great. The acting is way better than you'd expect, with B-movie veteran Richard Denning turning in a particularly noteworthy performance. The overall sense of dread and horror that would (I'm assuming) come with the end of the human race is there and quite effectively done. All in all, this film from "drive-in-movie-master" Roger Corman is surprisingly good, albeit still "bad-in-a-good-way." Definitely worth your time!

Don't like doing a lot of dishes night after night? Well, here is a tasty dish made all in one skilletand it smells AMAZING while it cooks!
Skillet Arroz Con Pollo
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium sweet red pepper, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 cup uncooked long grain rice
- 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 cup sherry or water
- 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 cups cubed cooked chicken breast
- 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
- 1/4 cup sliced ripe olives, drained
NOTE: we left these out and it was still fantastic!
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
In a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray, saute the onion, red pepper and garlic in oil for 1 minute. Add rice; cook and stir for 4-5 minutes or until lightly browned.
Stir in the broth, sherry, lemon peel, salt and cayenne. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Stir in the chicken, peas and olives. Cover and simmer 3-6 minutes longer or until rice is tender and chicken is heated through. Sprinkle with cilantro.
Yield: 4 servings
My hungry monsters ate it all up! We gave it 5 out of 5 "Plutonian illusions." Enjoy with a fruit salad or gelatin moldand don't forget your glass of milk! ENJOY!
