THE BEAST WALKS AMONG US!

With principal photography of the next Mihmiverse film, "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us," complete, the film has entered what writer/director Christopher R. Mihm refers to as his "favorite phase" of any project: post-production! This is the point during the movie-making process that's dominated by editing, wherein Mr. Mihm collects all the footage he's shot and starts to meticulously piece it together like a giant video jigsaw puzzle!

To help keep all the fans excited about the forthcoming flick, we're going to continue posting each and every still we're provided. This month, we see our first glimpse at the title creature...albeit only a VERY SMALL slice of what to expect! We see fur...and...not much else. Still, it certainly appears that Deputy O'Donnell (as played by Thom Gladhill) is shocked by what he sees! Let's hope he survives!

According to Mr. Mihm, over 45 minutes of the film have been edited, mostly because he often edits during the normal downtime that comes during the long film shoot. He anticipates the length of the finished movie will end up between 80 and 90 minutes, so he has ALREADY passed the midway point! Should everything go the way he's hoping, the film will be more than ready for a Spring 2020 debut!

AND, while post-production of one film remains ongoing, filming of the NEXT Mihmiverse film, the long-in-gestation horror-comedy, "That Which Lurks in the Dark," is slated to begin in December! So much Mihmiverse goodness is on the way, it's pretty safe to say we're excited AS HECK! Mr. Mihm promises to talk more about this OTHER movie in next month's Mihmiverse Monthly. Stay tuned!

In "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us," a local man is suspected of having been transformed into a hideous monster and it's up to a scrappy gang of local kids to uncover the truth and save Phantom Lake County—and everyone in it—from certain doom! Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm is creating a "triple tribute" to the creature-features of the 1950s, the history of the Mihmiverse, and "Scooby Doo!"

According to Mr. Mihm, this film will follow Danny Johnson (last seen in 2015's "Danny Johnson Saves The World"), his sister Evelyn and three of their buddies on another adventure into the Mihmiverse. This one, however, will be special in that it is being specifically designed to reference as much "Mihmiverse history" as possible and will include a bevy of familiar faces, characters and locations!

"The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us" is currently in post production! Should everything work out, it seems that 2020 will be a banner year for the 'verse, with potentially TWO features slated to be released during the year! AND, following the overwhelming success of contribution programs for writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's past films, contributor credits for this new film are STILL AVAILABLE for purchase!

For each $25.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name* of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film, a customized, frame-able document certifying their participation in the program and one (1) copy of the finished film! Additional copies of the film and/or world premiere tickets may be pre-ordered as "add-ons" ($10 each) with the purchase of at least one credit.

DON'T FORGET!

Credits can even be given as gifts! Imagine the looks on the faces of your loved ones when they find out their names will be immortalized on the silver screen! AND, just because the film is in the post-production stage doesn't mean it still doesn't need funds! In fact, now is when it needs them the most to ensure the movie is completed without delay!

OWN A PIECE OF THE NEXT MIHMIVERSE MOVIE!

Half a dozen IMPORTANT scenes from the next Mihmiverse film, "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us," take place in a graveyard: the "St. Euphoria Cemetery."

To ensure the ability of the Mihmiverse crew to shoot in a cemetery without disturbing ACTUAL graves, AND to purposely pay homage to one of the "best" B-movies to ever take place in a graveyard (Ed Wood's "masterpiece," 1959's "Plan 9 from Outer Space"), writer/director Christopher R. Mihm asked fans and friends to lend their artistic skills to help craft a "small town cemetery." A handful of very talented folks stepped up and submitted their work, all of which end up plainly seen in the finished film!

One group of fans in particular went far above-and-beyond and, in essence, single-handedly created 95% of the gravestones used on the set! As a result, Perkins Prop Productions () was born! Now that the film is in the can, and because we ended up with so many extra tombstones, has given us permission to sell the handful of extras to help fund post-production!

For only $49.99 (plus $19.99 shipping and handling), YOU can own one of these rare and exclusive props! Everyone who orders will receive a randomly-selected gravestone guaranteed to have been used in "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us!" Gravestones are made of lightweight, hand-carved & painted foam core and measure roughly 3' x 2' x 3".

This is a limited-time offer and will ONLY be available through the Mihmiverse Monthly newsletter! This item is limited to ONLY seven (7) tombstones and, once they're sold out, there will never be any more! Imagine owning one of these unique pieces of Mihmiverse and cinema history...then get yours while you can! Don't hesitate! Order now!

This offer is ONLY available to residents of the United States.

THE MIHMIVERSE STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP ON AMAZON!

If you're not aware, almost every Mihmiverse film is currently available to be streamed on Amazon Prime! Amazon, however, is currently undergoing a "silent purge" of independent films on its service. Many films of a particularly lower-budget stripe are starting to be pulled (without explanation) in an attempt by the company to "clean up" its movie selection. Unfortunately, the works of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm are not immune.

The first Mihmiverse film to be dropped from their service was "Destination: Outer Space" and, unfortunately, once removed, it CANNOT be resubmitted and will NOT be reconsidered by the service. Again, there was no explanation beyond a vague boilerplate response about "customer quality standards." "Destination: Outer Space" was the first Mihmiverse film to have a "star rating" slip below three and, as far as we can tell, that's the biggest reason it was dropped.

For a majority of people around the world, streaming has become the de facto home delivery method for movies, and having the films of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm available on one of the largest services is important to help fund future projects!

To make sure the films STAY on Amazon Prime, we desperately need your help—and it's easy to do! Simply stream any Mihmiverse film from beginning to end. Once it's done, give it a star rating. Then, if you feel so inclined, give it a review! Be honest! Tell the world what you think! THEN, encourage everyone you know to do the same! The more streaming minutes the 'verse gets, the more likely the films will remain on the service, so feel free to view (and rate!) the entire collection!

Thank you for your help!

MIHMIVERSE FAN FOCUS
Welcome to the Mihmiverse Monthly feature where we talk to YOU, the fans! Every month, we choose a random Mihmivite and ask them a few Mihmiverse-related questions in an attempt to get to know them better and find out what they REALLY think about the films of Christopher R. Mihm!

This month, we interview Robert Forto!

Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!
I am a man who is mushin' down a dream in the wilds of Alaska. My wife, Michele, and I live with a pack of 40 sled dogs and run expeditions in the Alaska Back country. When I'm not working with my sled dogs, my wife and I travel on what I call the "Rock 'n' Roller Tour Across America" where we go to music festivals and ride roller coasters. I'm also a huge scary movie buff and each October we do what we call "The 31 Nights of Horror" where we watch a different scary movie every night through Halloween! Last year we included all of the Mihmiverse movies in the mix! I know they aren’t TECHNICALLY scary flicks, but it was a ton of fun!

When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?
Several years ago, my friend Sid Korpi (Administrator Ripley) was involved in the "Attack of the Moon Zombies" and she hyped it up so much that I personally traveled from Alaska to the premiere of the film! What an awesome experience! Along with having writer/director Christopher R. Mihm on my podcast (a dog podcast, at that!) a few times to talk about his films, I have been a contributor for all of the Mihmiverse films ever since.

If you had to pick just ONE, which of the Mihmiverse films would be your favorite?
It would have to be a close toss-up between "The Monter of Phantom Lake" and "The Giant Spider!" Growing up, I watched "Creature Feature" every weekend and loved the old sci-fi movies from the 1950s that always had something to do with the scariness of atomic waste, the cold war, and, of course, out-of-this-world monsters. Close on the heels of "The Giant Spider" and "The Monster of Phantom Lake" would have to be "House of Ghosts" and "Queen of Snakes" for the sheer cheesiness factor. I loved the scenes in the houses. Fun fact, I was able to visit the "Flintstones shrine" and the '50s-era diner in the attic of the actual house used in the film. Sadly, Sid Korpi and Anthony Kaczor (last seen as the beleaguered husband of the "Goat Lady" in "The Giant Spider") have since sold the house. Luckily, it will continue to "live in infamy" in the films of the Mihmiverse!

Oh, wait! The question asked me to pick JUST ONE movie? In that case, "The Giant Spider"—but how could you realistically like JUST ONE?

Tell us how you, in particular, show your "Mihmiverse pride!"
I love to support the films. I thoroughly enjoy the creativity of Mr. Mihm and everyone involved in creating the Mihmiverse. Independent film-making is such a cool endeavor and I look forward to many more films to come! I can't wait to go to another premiere—hopefully the next one!

Where would you like to see the Mihmiverse go in the future?
I have mentioned this to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm in the past, but it would be so cool for the behind-the-scenes crew to head up to Alaska and somehow include my sled dogs and the whole romantic mystique of the Alaskan frontier! Almost like "Guns of the Apocalypse" meets John Carpenter's "The Thing." I will offer up the accommodations for the crew! Let's do it!
Want to be interviewed for a future edition of the Mihmiverse Fan Focus? Send an email to info@sainteuphoria.com and let us know! Maybe next month the subject will be YOU!
CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
Earth vs. The Spider (1958)
Directed by Bert I. Gordon
Starring Edward Kemmer and June Kenny

After "30-year-old-teenager" Carol Flynn's father goes missing, she enlists the help of her boyfriend Mike to find him. While searching, they come across her dad's wrecked car near a spooky cave that's clearly marked DO NOT ENTER. They enter anyway and find not only her father's desiccated remains, but the gigantic spider responsible for his death. Through a ridiculous (albeit strangely engrossing) series of events involving the local sheriff, their science teacher and a high school rock-'n'-roll band, the spider is released from the cave and begins terrorizing the town. The special effects are era-appropriate cheese and the acting (not to mention the ages of the actors playing teenagers) is questionable. Despite its many shortcomings, the film is still one of my favorite classic 1950's monster films and one of director Bert I. Gordon's better efforts. Highly recommended!

THE TRIVIA CORNER
Which Witch is Which?

What better way to celebrate Halloween month than with a quiz about witches? Can you match which broom belongs to whom?

1. Everyone knows Margaret Hamilton was the Wicked Witch of the West in "The Wizard of Oz," but she also played a witch in this film that mixed witches and hillbillies with Abbott and Costello.
2. Barbara Steele starred in this creepy thriller about a vengeful witch who returns from the grave to begin a bloody campaign to posses the body of her tormentor's beautiful look-alike descendant.
3. The legendary Angela Lansbury played an apprentice witch in this Disney film about finding the components of a spell that could turn the tide for the British in WWII.
4. Kim Novak played a sexy witch who enchants Jimmy Stewart to fall in love with her just to get back at his fiance—an old college rival. But she ends up in danger of losing her powers when she finds herself actually falling in love with him. Jack Lemmon also starred.
5. Veronica Lake starred as a beautiful 17th century witch who returns from the grave to torment a descendant of her persecutor.
6. Patricia Jessel led the cast as the proprietor of an inn which is actually a front for a large coven hellbent on making sure one of the inn's guests—a student writing a paper on witchcraft—is sacrificed to the devil. Christopher Lee also starred.

A. "I Married a Witch" (1942)
B. "Comin' Round the Mountain" (1951)
C. "Bell, Book and Candle" (1958)
D. "Black Sunday" (1960)
E. "City of the Dead" (1960)
