CURRENT NEWS
Join us on March 9th in Fridley, MN for the "The Monster of Phantom Lake" 10th Anniversary Viewing Party—in 3D!

On the same date in 2006, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's first film, "The Monster of Phantom Lake," held its world premiere at the Heights Theater in Columbia Heights, MN to a near sold-out crowd. The audience laughed, sang along and, in general, had a fantastic time! When the final credits rolled, the crowd broke into a rousing cheer before filing into the lobby to buy DVDs and posters and eat a cake shaped like the title creature's head. At the end of that night, few would have expected that ten years later, "the little movie that could" would give birth to a series of movies now collectively known as the Mihmiverse.

In honor of this important Mihmiverse milestone, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and Bob Gilbert (of Midnight Monster Movies with Dr. Bob) have converted the film to "old school" red/cyan anaglyph 3D, and on the exact date of the tenth anniversary of the release of the film, you're invited to attend a VERY exclusive viewing party—in 3D!

The event will start at 6:00PM and, in addition to a screening of the 3D version of the movie (3D glasses will be provided), the night will include exciting Mihmiverse-related activities, pizza, soda, popcorn and tons o' fun! Also, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and several Mihmiverse stars will be in attendance to celebrate the film that started it all! DVDs and other merchandise will be on sale AND all attendees will receive a free "The Monster of Phantom Lake" poster!

Admission is $15.00 per ticket and includes food!

IMPORTANT! This event is limited to ONLY 50 attendees and is already almost half sold out! We anticipate this event will sell out quickly, so DO NOT HESITATE or you WILL MISS OUT!

"Danny Johnson Saves The World" has been nominated for a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award!

Since 2002, the Rondos have been fandom's only true classic horror award. They are decided by fans, for fans. Every Rondo nominee is being recognized for a significant achievement in the genre during the year of 2015. Voting is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and is done through email.

To vote, first click HERE to view the full ballot. Next, copy the ballot, paste it into an email, pick your choices ("Danny Johnson Saves The World" is in section 7 of the ballot under Best Independent Film), and send it along with your name to taraco@aol.com.

That's it! AND, don't forget to pass this information on to EVERYONE YOU KNOW! We need as many people as humanly possible to make this happen!

This is the fifth Mihmiverse film to be nominated for this prestigious award after "Terror from Beneath the Earth," "Attack of the Moon Zombies," "House of Ghosts" and "The Giant Spider." Of the previous Mihmiverse nominees, "House of Ghosts" was the only winner!
Principal photography of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next film, "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter," has begun and with it, the second decade of the Mihmiverse is OFFICIALLY underway!

Just forty-eight hours before Valentine's day, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and his small-but-dedicated crew began shooting the next great Mihmiverse film, "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter!" James Norgard, who is best known as Dr. Gabriel from "The Giant Spider" and "The Late Night Double Feature," was the only actor present for these first scenes—and we have photographic evidence to prove it...sort of! Mr. Mihm was kind enough to provide us with a still from the. It's not entirely clear...but it IS creepy as heck!

We've been hearing for months that this movie will be the darkest Mihmiverse film to date and something about this cryptic photo makes that abundantly clear. However, monster-of-all-trades Michael Kaiser took some of the wind out of the photo's "creepy sails" when he remarked that it made Mr. Norgard look like a demented version of "the guy from 'Inside the Actor's Studio.'" Depending on your own impressions of James Lipton, host of "Inside the Actor's Studio," your personal mileage may vary when it comes to just how creepy you find the photo below!

ENJOY!
Weresquito: Nazi Hunter
In writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next film, "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter," horrific Nazi experiments have left a surviving WWII soldier with a terrifying condition: at the sight of fresh blood, he transforms into a man-sized, blood-sucking killer insect! Refusing to let his affliction destroy him and all he loves, he instead commits himself to using his "powers" for good—by finding the people responsible and bringing them to justice!

The film is currently in active production and, should everything work out just right, it will premiere in early October 2016!

Following the overwhelming success of previous contribution programs for writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's past films, contributor credits are NOW AVAILABLE for the latest!

For each $25.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name* of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film, a customized, frame-able document certifying their participation in the program and a choice of one (1) copy of the finished film (format of your choice) OR one (1) collector's ticket to the film's world premiere!

Additional copies of the film and/or premiere tickets may also be pre-ordered as "add-ons" ($10 each) with the purchase of at least one credit. ALSO, for every contribution received, all members of the official Mihmiverse fan club will receive an exclusive "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter" teaser poster!

CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
The Land Unknown (1957)

In this overlooked classic directed by Virgil W. Vogel, an Antarctic mapping expedition turns fantastical when, after encountering a heavy storm, one of its helicopters goes missing. Assumed to have crashed into the ice, it instead lands within a deep, seemingly sub-tropical crater populated by dinosaurs! While searching for the means with which to fix their damaged 'copter, the small crew (and a "hitchhiking" lady journalist played by Shirley Patterson) are treated to wild adventures of the prehistoric and "man-in-Tyrannosaurus-Rex-costume" type.

Overall, I was extremely surprised by just how good this movie is. It starts a bit slow, with a few too many "helicopter-model-flying-in-front-of-snowy-stock-footage" shots but, once the crew arrives in the crater, the movie picks up significantly and we, the audience, are treated to a fun adventure. Sure, in the age of "Jurassic Park," the monsters look dated and fake, but they're absolutely perfect in a 1950's-drive-in-B-movie way.

I watched this film again recently and was quickly reminded why it ranks as one of my all-time favorites from the era. That, and the actor who plays the main character is named Jock Mahoney. Not "Jacques," but Jock. Weird!

FROM THE MIHMIVERSE TEST KITCHENS
Chicken & Sausage
This is a simple dish I created one evening when the hubby was out and the kids and I just didn't know what to have for dinner. Going out was not an option, so I had to cook up something to feed all the rumbling tummies!

•  3 pounds of chicken breasts
•  2 rings of lean turkey kielbasa
•  2 bottles of your favorite barbecue sauce
•  Salt (to taste)
•  Pepper (to taste)

Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Brown the chicken breasts in skillet and then set chicken aside. Slice the turkey kielbasa into chunks. Place chicken and kielbasa in 13" x 9" casserole dish and pour both bottles of barbecue sauce over the meat. Cover and bake in oven at 425° for 40 min or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear. Remove from oven and serve!

You can also finish this dish right in a skillet. After browning the chicken, add cut-up kielbasa and barbecue sauce. Cover and cook on medium until chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear.

This dish pairs wonderfully with smashed potatoes and green beans or sauteed asparagus!

My crew gives this 5 out of 5 "creepy laboratories."

ENJOY!
