In a stunning (and, frankly, confusing) turnaround, Amazon Prime has reinstated "
Cave Women on Mars!" We honestly have
NO IDEA why they pulled it in the first place before inexplicably re-adding it to their service. Regardless, we're excited that it's back! To make sure it (and all the Mihmiverse films)
STAY on the service,
PLEASE take the time to watch one (or all) of the films and absolutely
MAKE SURE to watch them until the end credits begin! One of the ways Amazon measures "customer engagement," (their main metric upon which films are judged to remain in their streaming catalog), is based solely on if the people who choose to watch a film watch it to the end!
"
It Came From Another World!" and "
Destination: Outer Space" remain off the service and, unfortunately, will most likely never be re-added. Still, most of the Mihmiverse catalog
IS on Amazon Prime and remains available (and commercial free) for Prime subscribers!
Amazon is still the number one place where people new to the Mihmiverse find the films. Without it, the ability of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm to continue to expand his cinematic universe would be greatly reduced. As always, we have no idea how long Amazon will keep Mr. Mihm's filmography around, so we encourage you to enjoy it while it lasts. To reiterate, make sure if you
START a movie,
FINISH it! A huge factor in Amazon's decision to remove any particular film is that if a movie is started but not completed, it is implied that the movie may not be of sufficient "quality" to be on its service!
Another thing that helps keep films on Amazon is once you've finished watching something, give it a star rating...but only if your star rating is
AT LEAST three. Anything below three stars negatively affects the film and potentially drags it toward the "removal threshold." If you feel so inclined, give it a review, but be honest! Tell the world what you think and maybe even let others know that there are
MORE Mihmiverse films available to watch on the service!
THEN, encourage everyone you know to do the same! The more streaming minutes the 'verse gets, the longer the films will remainso feel free to view (and rate!) what's left of the collection!
Thank you for your help!
In addition to many of the films of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm being available on Amazon Prime, there are now
OTHER options for streaming the Mihmiverse!
The entire Mihmiverse catalog (
INCLUDING "
The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!") is available for on-demand streaming and digital download at
Vimeo! Every film accessible through the Mihmiverse
Vimeo page is of the highest quality transfer available to both rent and/or own!
PLUS, every movie you purchase includes a blooper reel!
Drive-in Monsters is the official Mihmiverse Roku channel and is the place to find all the films of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm
AND a curated collection of special features! We plan to add some really cool, exclusive content over time, so we encourage you to add the channel to your Roku lineup. To find the
Drive-in Monsters channel, simply search for it through your Roku service!
To make sure we never have to charge a premium for the channel, we are currently collecting subscribers and star ratings so we can convert the channel to "advertiser-supported" (as opposed to a subscriber-based service). The more stars and ratings we receive, the better we are able to approach higher quality advertisers. The higher the "quality" of our advertisers, the more money the channel earns. The more money the channel earns, the more Mihmiverse content we make! It's a win-win for everyone!
SO, make sure that once you've installed the channel, you
GIVE IT A STAR RATINGthe higher the better! Then, be sure to tell everyone you know to install the channel and do the same! With your help, we'll be able to continue to bring you the best Mihmiverse-related content for years to come!

YOU, the fans! Every month, we choose a random Mihmivite and ask them a few Mihmiverse-related questions in an attempt to get to know them better and find out what they
REALLY think about the films of Christopher R. Mihm!
This month, we interview Lisa Sanchelo!
Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!
Hi I'm Lisa Sanchelo, and I'm the host of the "
I Love that Movie!" Podcast. I'm a lifelong nerd, a cosplayer, and a movie lover. Three years ago, I started a podcast that was solely focused on discussing movies that my guests love and it's been amazing. I reside in Texas with my husband and two dogs. I like to podcast, sew, paint, but, most of all, I love watching movies!
When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?
Like most Mihmiverse fans in Texas, I met writer/director Christopher R. Mihm through super-fan, Michael Cross. I approached Mr. Mihm about doing an interview for my podcast. I was super nervous, but Christopher put me at ease, and, before we knew it, we not only had an awesome interview but we became fast friends! I think we talked so long that Michael had to come find us and coax Christopher back to his booth!
If you had to pick just ONE, which of the Mihmiverse films would be your favorite?
This is a tough one. I really enjoy them all, but the first one I think I saw was the "
The Giant Spider" and I just love it. I know it's probably the "funniest" one, but that's not why I chose it. From the casting to the pacing, and, honestly, the humor (which is pretty good, too), the overall package just makes it one of my faves!
Tell us how you, in particular, show your "Mihmiverse pride!"
Christopher has been a guest on my show several times since we met, and I attend every live showing he has in Dallas that I can get to. I advertise all his content for free (podcasts are not high paying haha), but I do it because I genuinely enjoy not only the great films he puts out, but the community of like-minded sci-fi loving enthusiasts who enjoy the Mihmiverse. I always say it's like running away and joining the circus! There's just something infectious about the Mihmiverse!
Where would you like to see the Mihmiverse go in the future?
I would love for there to be some type of Mihimiverse channel, more interactive live content, really connecting with people, because I think that is a big part of the fandom. The movies stand on their own for sure, but its the community and brand that really draw you in! Also, I OBVIOUSLY want to get back to the movies! Maybe Christopher could try partnering with our local drive-ins here! That would be such a fun way to watch his content!

CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
The Giant Claw (1957)
Directed by
Fred F. SearsStarring
Jeff Morrow and
Mara Corday
This movie can easily be summed up in four tantalizing words: giant space turkey attacks! Basically, an overgrown "anti-matter" bird from space appears and starts destroying everything in its path. Humanity tries to fight back but every weapon tried fails miserably because of the creature's natural "anti-matter" defenses. Worst of all, with mankind on the brink of possible extinction, the bird's true intentions are revealedit's building a nest! Naturally, it's up to a trio of scientists to figure out how to break through the "anti-matter barrier" and stop the creature once and for all. This film is considered one of the worst ever made but honestly, I totally disagree. Yes, it is "bad," but in all the right ways! The giant turkey creature is effectively cheesy and in almost every shot, you can see the strings. The plot is cliché, the acting is barely passable, the "action" is hardly exciting and yet, the movie is still a heck-of-a-lot of fun. Check it out if you get the chance.

Venus Envy
When it comes to cheesy sci-fi movies that involve the planets in our own solar system, there's no denying that Mars has more than its fair share. But the other planets also have some "cheese" they can call their own!
Below are 6 movies that involve the planet Venus, and a list of plot lines. I'm pretty sure we've never used
ANY of these for trivia before, so maybe this will be a little tougher than you think. Or maybe not. Match them up and see!
1. (1958) "Queen of Outer Space"
2. (1959) "Have Rocket, Will Travel"
3. (1960) "First Spaceship on Venus"
4. (1962) "Masters of Venus"
5. (1965) "Voyage to the Prehistoric Plane"
6. (1972) "
Doomsday Machine"
A. A mysterious force draws astronauts to Venus, where a tribe of beautiful women awaitsincluding Zsa Zsa Gabor!
B. Project Astra entails sending a manned mission to Venus. At the last minute, half of the men are replaced by women. No
one knows why until shortly after the launch when the Earth is blown to smithereens by the Chinese. Bobby Van and
Ruta Lee star.
C. Three janitors accidentally get sent to Venus, where they meet a talking unicornand a giant spider!
D. When a Venusian artifact is found on Earth, a team of astronauts is sent to Venus to investigate. This one is a Japanese
film, if that helps.
E. Astronauts land on Venus and discover a tribe that may or may not have originated on Earthon the lost continent of
Atlantis.
F. Three spaceships are sent to Venus from a spaceport on the moon, and encounter prehistoric beasts, a raging volcano,
and the remnants of an Earth-like race. Basil Rathbone is in this one.
