It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
Directed by Frank Capra Starring James Stewart, Donna Reed and Henry Travers
Director Frank Capra's 1946 Christmas classic, "It's A Wonderful Life," is a bittersweet postwar story of a small town savings-and-loan manager who struggles against a greedy banker and his own self-doubting nature. George Bailey (James Stewart) comes to recognize his life as wonderful and truly rich, but only after suffering many hardships, mishaps and trials. He is given encouragement by a whimsical, endearing, angel-in-training named Clarence (Henry Travers). The picture earned five Academy Award nominations even though it was a box-office flop in 1946. It did not become a Christmas classic until the 1970s after it was aired repeatedly during the holiday season. Later in their lives, both director Frank Capra and star James Stewart referred to the film as their favorite amongst their many respective works.
While this tale is full of classic Hollywood cheese (and you know we love the cheese!) it is also a dark examination of a single man's worth. It illustrates beautifully how we all make a difference in the lives of the people we touch each day. I absolutely love this timeless classic, and it is a must-see each holiday seasonI even own the trivia game! If you've never seen it or avoided it because of its perceived hokiness, I highly recommend giving it a chanceyou might be surprised (but remember to have some tissues on hand...just in case)!

Since so many fans and supporters have contributed and become associate producers, we wanted to take time to highlight some of these wonderful people! Thus, every month between now and the release of "The Giant Spider," we will randomly choose and interview one of them.
This month, we interview Tori Fox, who is not only an associate producer, but will make her film acting debut in "The Giant Spider" and has been heard in several episodes of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast!
Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!
I'm Tori Fox, I live in the Twin Cities area and I'm currently going to school for theater arts. I grew up watching movies, but the really cheesy ones seemed to have stayed with me, always my favorites.
When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?
I found out about the Mihmiverse at ValleyCon in Fargo, ND in late 2011. My dad (executive producer Ryan Fox) actually kind of introduced me to the awesome folks running the Mihmiverse booth, and after watching the title sequence of "Attack of the Moon Zombies," I was completely hooked on the movies.
Which of the seven released films is your favorite and why?
Oh, boy! I get asked this question a lot, and I don't really like it. I've seen all the films a number of times, and I've never been able to choose. But, if I REALLY had to, I'd pick "Destination: Outer Space" because I love the space adventure of it, and A.D.A.M. is awesome. I love a good robot in movies!
You recently became an associate producer of "The Giant Spider." Why?
I became an associate producer because I really believe in what writer/director Christopher R. Mihm does. I want to see his movies go far. I really want a lot more people to see his work, and I'm glad someone is making these kinds of movies again!
Interested in becoming an associate producer? For a miniscule monetary investment, all associate producers will get their names listed in the end credits of " The Giant Spider," a pair of collectors tickets to the premiere, five copies of the film on DVD, and a frame-able certificate with their name and titleperfect for your own "wall of fame!"
Visit the merchandise page at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, for more information. Who knows? Maybe next month we'll be interviewing YOU!

Let's wrap up the year with something a little different. In 1962, American International Pictures released "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" or "The Head That Wouldn't Die," depending on whether you believed the title at the beginning of the film or the credits at the end. Apparently continuity was not a concern.
Here's the plot: Dr. Bill Cortner has been performing unauthorized experimental surgery on human guinea pigs. When his fiancée Jan Compton is decapitated in a car crash, he manages to keep her brain alive and begins searching for a new body in bars and strip clubs all over town. Meanwhile, Jan's head just wants to die and calls upon a creature hidden in the basement, one of Bill's unsuccessful experiments, to break loose and help. Mayhem ensues.
Trivia: There were no heroes or heroines in the film; EVERYONE was evil. It was also the inspiration behind the 1980s horror/comedy classic "Frankenhooker."
But here's where it REALLY gets interesting: There were no "Monster Hits" in the film. So why am I highlighting it? Because in 2011, a live-action stage musical called "The Brain That Wouldn't Diein 3D" debuted at the New York Musical Theatre Festival. This "Musical in 2 Unspeakable Acts" lifts dialogue directly from the film and sets it to music. Add some dancing and over-the-top acting, and you've got, well, a Monster Hit Show.
Follow this link to the musical's homepage, and enjoy some really fun (and campy) music videos: www.thebrainthatwouldntdie.com.
