THE UNSEEN INVASION PREMIERES THIS MONTH

"The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us" World Premiere
December 23rd, 2020 — digital premiere @ vimeo.com!

The 15th Mihmiverse film in as many years, "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion" is complete, and that means it's time for another world premiere! Unfortunately, given the situation in the world, a live event at a movie theater is sadly out of the question. Therefore, the film will be released on December 23rd, 2020—just in time for the holidays—on the Mihmiverse Vimeo VOD portal this month on December 23rd, 2020!

This is the first time ever a Mihmiverse film will hold its world premiere exclusively in a digital space, and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm is planning to recreate as much of the "live premiere" experience as possible. This means that a specific "premiere version" of the film (which will include extra exclusive content) will be available for a limited time (from December 23rd through the first week of January 2021). Afterwards, a "movie-only" version will take its place on the Vimeo service and a physical media release will follow.

The "premiere version" of the film will be available for a single rental price and, if conditions improve, we hope to do a live physical media release party next year. If you're one of the handful of contributors who pre-paid for tickets to the world premiere, you will receive a code which will grant you free access to the digital premiere AND, if we are able to hold a live event, you will be able to attend without having to pay to do so!

The film will be posted as close to midnight as possible and announced on the main page of sainteuphoria.com AND across all Mihmiverse social media! Pre-paid contributors will receive "free watch" codes once the film's Vimeo.com page is up and running. Admittedly, this is all new to us so, fingers crossed that it goes smoothly!

To ensure you're ready for the release of the next great Mihmiverse film, be sure to frequently visit sainteuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, OR follow us on Facebook for updates!

THE RETURN OF THE CANOE COPS!

"'Canoe Cops vs. The Mummy' reads like a lost Universal monster movie, and I'm very proud to have Mr. Sullivan playing around in my creative sandbox. Fans of my films and those who love classic monsters are in for a real treat, and I sincerely hope this is only the first of many Canoe Cops stories to come!"
— Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm

An Egyptian mummy rises from the depths to wreak havoc upon the sleepy Wisconsin town of Phantom Lake. Now, only the bravest Canoe Cops, led by Lieutenant Richard Agar, and auxiliary Paddle Girl (and expert diver) Julie Browning stand between their city and the mummy's deadly curse!

Stephen D. Sullivan is the author of more than fifty books and has worked on countless comics and games. His past projects include "Iron Man," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," "Dungeons & Dragons" and "Star Wars." Steve's adaptation of the cult classic "Manos: The Hands of Fate" won the prestigious Scribe Award for Best Adapted Novel, 2016.

STREAM THE MIHMIVERSE
If you're like most people these days, you tend to digitally stream your favorite TV shows and movies, particularly because it's way more convenient and you have access to them in more places. Did you know that there are now several places to stream the entire Mihmiverse catalog?

From the movie that started it all, "The Monster of Phantom Lake," to its musical offshoot, "The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!," and the latest release, "Queen of Snakes," everything you need to "visit" the denizens of Phantom Lake County is available for your viewing pleasure!

Most of the films of the Mihmiverse—excluding "It Came From Another World!" and "Destination: Outer Space"—are free to watch for every Amazon Prime subscriber on Amazon Video. Most modern "smart" TVs, set-top boxes, and Blu-Ray players have the ability to stream Mihmiverse movies into your homes and devices. AND, as of right now, streaming through Amazon Video is one of the few services that earns Saint Euphoria Pictures a couple bucks in the process! It's not nearly as much as purchasing physical media, but every penny helps!

Drive-in Monsters is the official Mihmiverse Roku channel and is the place to find all the films of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm AND a collection of special features curated by the man himself! Eventually, it is Mr. Mihm's plan to add some really cool, exclusive content over time, so we encourage you to add the channel to your Roku lineup. To find the Drive-in Monsters channel, simply search for it through your Roku service!

To make sure we never have to charge a premium for the channel, we are currently collecting subscribers and star ratings so we can convert the channel to "advertiser-supported" (as opposed to a subscriber-based service). The more stars and ratings we receive, the better we are able to approach higher quality advertisers. The higher the "quality" of our advertisers, the more money the channel earns. The more money the channel earns, the more Mihmiverse content we make! It's a win-win for everyone!

SO, make sure that once you've installed the channel, you GIVE IT A STAR RATING—the higher the better! Then, be sure to tell everyone you know to install the channel and do the same! With your help, we'll be able to continue to bring you the best Mihmiverse-related content for years to come!

Lastly, the entire Mihmiverse collection is also available for both rental and purchase through its Vimeo VOD portal! Every film is presented using the same ultra high-quality renders used for the official Blu-Ray releases and actually feeds video content to the Drive-in Monsters Roku channel. Most importantly, the Mihmiverse Vimeo VOD portal is the ONLY PLACE to legally own the films digitally!

MIHMIVERSE FAN FOCUS
Welcome to the Mihmiverse Monthly feature where we talk to YOU, the fans! Every month, we choose a random Mihmivite and ask them a few Mihmiverse-related questions in an attempt to get to know them better and find out what they REALLY think about the films of Christopher R. Mihm!

This month, we interview Patrick Shawn Bennett!

Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!
Hello fellow film nerds! I'm Patrick Shawn Bennett and I live in the swamps of Southwest Louisiana. I'm a huge film buff of all genres, but mostly westerns and sci-fi. I also dabble in independent filmmaking, mostly shorts, and my favorite films of all time are "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981) and "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980).

I also put on independent film festivals in Southwest Louisiana: The Lake Charles Film Festival which takes place every October, with 2021 marking its 10th year, The Calcasieu Parish Short Film Festival which is in its 4th year and takes place every April, and The Calcasieu Serialfest which will be having its 8th festival in July and celebrates the classic cliffhanger serials of the 1930s, '40s, and '50s.

My latest hobby is podcasting. During this pandemic lockdown I started my very first podcast called The Pop Ninja Podcast and it's all about the pop culture of the '70s & '80s. My co-host and I talk about movies, TV, music, toys, games, events, and just about anything else you can think of from those time periods. Check us out if you get a chance @ popninja.net!

When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?
I first learned of the Mihmiverse about a decade ago when I was thumbing through a horror/sci-fi magazine called "Screem" and there was a huge article about writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and his awesome movies. I couldn't believe what I was reading was true. I didn't believe a man of this caliber existed and was out there making these kinds of films. I hadn't known of such a cool cat since David Hasslehoff burst onto the small screen in the '80s as "Knight Rider."

I knew right away that I had to show one of his films at the Lake Charles Film Festival! I started searching for him on the interwebs and I discovered his website. I emailed him and asked if we could show "The Giant Spider" and he asked me how much money I had. I told him and he said, "Keep your money. I will let you screen my film to your audience, but then you will owe me a favor. When I come to collect this favor, no matter what I ask, you must do it."

Wait... that wasn't Christopher R. Mihm. That was Nick Mancuso on the TV show "Stingray." I get the two of them mixed up sometimes. I guess because they're both so suave and mysterious. But anyhoo, he sent me "The Giant Spider" and I showed it at the fest. Everybody loved it and I was hooked on his films and immediately bought a copy of every one that he had. Then I invited him to come to the next film festival. He did, and he returned a few more years. In fact, he has become a staple of the Lake Charles Film Festival. We screen one of his films each year and he holds a seminar teaching aspiring filmmakers his model of success. I guess as long as I keep feeding him awesome cajun food he will keep coming back.

(Edit: We, the writers of the Mihmiverse Monthly, reached out to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm for comment and he confirmed every word is true, particularly the parts about him being as suave and mysterious as Nick Mancuso and that he happily works for quality cajun food.)

If you had to pick just ONE, which of the Mihmiverse films would be your favorite?
If I had to pick just one Mihmverse movie it would have to be "Attack of the Moon Zombies" (2011). I loved the sets, the costumes and the moon zombie masks. I was fortunate to get one of the uniform patches from this film.

Tell us how you, in particular, show your "Mihmiverse pride!"
The way I show my Mihmiverse pride is with the four Mhmiverse character tattoos I have on my arms!

No, I'm just kidding, but maybe someday. That said, I do support each of his films by contributing to his campaigns and purchasing Blu-Rays. I have also purchased Mihmiverse merchandise like the trading cards, the puzzle, and a replica Steve puppet. I also watch the films regularly and enjoy the cool behind-the-scenes material on the Mihmiverse Roku channel. I also purchase the limited-edition Christmas ornaments each year and display them on the tree.

Where would you like to see the Mihmiverse go in the future?
As far as the future, I would love to see Mr. Mihm continue making movies and putting out more cool merchandise. I'm really wanting a "Queen of Snakes" medallion replica, a broken one, too, like the one seen around the Reverend's neck in "Guns of the Apocalypse," and, of course, a moon zombie mask. I would also like to see a monthly web series made of one of the characters or a brand new character. Maybe a superhero! It could air monthly on the website or the Roku channel!
Want to be interviewed for a future edition of the Mihmiverse Fan Focus? Send an email to info@sainteuphoria.com and let us know! Maybe next month the subject will be YOU!
CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
It's a Wonderful Life
It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
Directed by Frank Capra
Starring James Stewart, Donna Reed and Henry Travers

Director Frank Capra's 1946 Christmas classic, "It's A Wonderful Life," is a bittersweet postwar story of a small town savings-and-loan manager who struggles against a greedy banker and his own self-doubting nature. George Bailey (James Stewart) comes to recognize his life as wonderful and truly rich, but only after suffering many hardships, mishaps and trials. He is given encouragement by a whimsical, endearing, angel-in-training named Clarence (Henry Travers). The picture earned five Academy Award nominations even though it was a box-office flop in 1946. It did not become a Christmas classic until the 1970s after it was aired repeatedly during the holiday season. Later in their lives, both director Frank Capra and star James Stewart referred to the film as their favorite amongst their many respective works.

While this tale is full of classic Hollywood cheese (and you know we love the cheese!) it is also a dark examination of a single man's worth. It illustrates beautifully how we all make a difference in the lives of the people we touch each day. I absolutely love this timeless classic, and it is a must-see each holiday season—I even own the trivia game! If you've never seen it or avoided it because of its perceived hokiness, I highly recommend giving it a chance—you might be surprised (but remember to have some tissues on hand...just in case)!
— Stephanie Mihm
THE TRIVIA CORNER
Ahhh, December! It brings to mind the old poem, "'Twas the Night Before Christmas," which gave us the phrase: "The moon on the breast of new-fallen snow, gave the luster of TERROR to objects below." Or something like that.

This month, we go back to the '50s (and 1960): a time when the moon was at the center of several cheesy science fiction classics. And rightfully so! After all, the moon is made of Swiss cheese, right?

Below are two lists: #1: Titles and release years. #2: Plot points and trivia. As always, your mission is to match 'em up! (Note: if you fail, we'll be shipping you off to the moon to help battle some plant-based zombies we've discovered.)

1. (1950) "Destination: Moon"
2. (1953) "Cat-Women of the Moon"
3. (1953) "Project Moon Base"
4. (1958) "From the Earth to the Moon"
5. (1960) "12 to the Moon"

A. As a team of astronauts explore the dark side of moon, they discover a cavern with a breathable atmosphere, and a race of beings who want to steal their ship and conquer Earth.
B. The first manned spacecraft to land on the moon is successful, until the astronauts realize they miscalculated their fuel consumption vs. total weight and don't have enough fuel to get back to Earth unless they strip the vessel of non-essential equipment—and leave behind one of their colleagues.
C. In the future world of 1970, a group of astronauts is sent to the moon on a special mission, but one of them sabotages the project and they end up stranded. One of the stars of the film was Hayden Rourke, who later starred as Dr. Bellows in TV's "I Dream of Jeannie," which, of course, was about an astronaut and, uhh, his genie.
D. An international team of astronauts takes off for the moon and runs into several obstacles along the way—but that's just the beginning. Once they arrive, they encounter an alien who believes the human race is too immature and dangerous, and must be destroyed immediately.
E. In 1868, an inventor develops a powerful explosive that can also be used as fuel for a rocket to the moon. Soon he and his motley crew are on their way. The cast for this one includes Joseph Cotten, George Sanders and Debra Paget.
