SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Mihmiverse is coming to the Minnesota State Fair! Or, more specifically, all five of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's finished films will screen as part of the all-day-every-day movie marathons at the Blue Moon Dine-In Theater!

In a sea of fried and/or on-a-stick "delicacies," the Blue Moon specializes in "sit down food" in an airy, shaded building filled with old car seats and benches facing a movie screen that features classic B-movies, television shows, and for the first time this year, the films of the Mihmiverse! Though you may run into writer/director Christopher R. Mihm at the Blue Moon on any given day during the fair, you're guaranteed if you come down on Saturday, August 28th and/or Wednesday, September 1st when he and other stars of the Mihmiverse will be on hand to meet, greet, sign merchandise and share some of the Blue Moon's newest menu addition: Korean tacos!

NOTE: We're currently looking for volunteers who are interested in selling DVDs at the "Mihmiverse DVD table" during the fair. Free fair admission and sales commissions available! Send an email to info@sainteuphoria.com for more information!

The Minnesota State Fair runs from August 26th to September 6th and is open everyday from 6:00AM to 10:00PM. We hope to see you there!

   CURRENT NEWS

We're told that pre-production continues apace on the next Mihmiverse film, "Attack of the Moon Zombies," but... what is this!?

We just received this photo from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and yes, that IS Professor Jackson. AND, we're told it has SOMETHING to do with the new film. However, Josh Craig, the man responsible for playing Professor (and Director) Jackson in four of the five Mihmiverse films, is NOT listed in the film's credits. Also, a few other things strike us as odd about this photo: the professor is wearing a suit and tie, he's bearded, his hair is considerably grayer, and, most peculiar, it's in COLOR! Believe us, we have NO IDEA what this means or how it relates to "Attack of the Moon Zombies," but there's one thing this exceedingly cryptic photo does well: it gets us ridiculously excited about the next film! For now, let the speculation begin!

In other news: after numerous requests for more music by EchoDriver, (the musical moniker of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm responsible for both "A-Rockin', A-Rollin', All the Way A-Ramblin'" from "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and "Paddlin' Along" from "It Came From Another World!"), SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, has been given permission to literally GIVE AWAY EchoDriver's last album! All eleven original tunes (plus two never-before-released bonus tracks) from the 2003 album "Moonlight" are free to download and share with anyone and everyone. The files can be found in (and downloaded from) the downloads section of the site's special features page. Or, simply click here to jump straight to the download!

Lastly, in some rather sad and shocking news, Brittany Hughes, the talented-beyond-words costumer who designed and constructed all the iconic costumes for "Cave Women on Mars" has been diagnosed with melanoma, one of the less common, though most problematic, forms of skin cancer -- and she only recently turned 30 years old!

What began as a mole on her inner thigh was removed and biopsied. Sadly, the results were not what she (or anyone) wanted to hear. Luckily, it appears they caught it relatively early and with treatment, her odds of long-term survival (and eventual recovery) are quite good. We are trying to come up with some creative ways to do a little fundraising for Brittany and as soon as we have something, we'll tell you all about it! In the meantime, if you'd like to send some happy wishes her way (she definitely needs and appreciates them all), send them to info@sainteuphoria.com and we'll forward them on for you! Get well soon, Brittany!

   CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH

The Saga of the Viking Women and their Voyage to the Waters of the Great Sea Serpent (1957)
Directed by Roger Corman.
Starring Abby Dalton, Susan Cabot, and June Kenney.

Better known by it's shortened (and infinitely easier to remember) title, "Viking Women and the Sea Serpent," this is a great example of what Roger Corman was best at: making classic Z-grade movies that are so bad they become transcendent in their awesomeness! The movie follows a band of models in short skirted Viking costumes whose men have disappeared somewhere across the sea. Being hearty Viking women, they decide sitting around and waiting is out of the question and instead, load up their own longship and set out to find their men. Not surprisingly -- since it's pretty much given away by the title -- they tangle with a terrible special effect of a sea serpent and, barely escaping with their lives, eventually end up in an exotic land inhabited by barbarians and ruled by an iron-fisted despot and his wimpy (and mildly offensive by today's standards) son. Will the Viking women find their men? Will they survive their encounter with the uncivilized hoarde? Will the one dark-haired (and, naturally, evil and untrustworthy) warrior woman find a way to destroy her golden-haired rival and thus claim her rival's "betrothed" for herself? Does it really matter when you're treated to such terrible dialog, surprisingly intense violence for the era in which the film was made, atrocious special effects, sub-par acting, and enough beef- and cheese-cake to feed an army? The answer is a firm and definite "no." If you really enjoy classic low-budget "drive-in cinema," you need to find a copy of this movie RIGHT NOW. You will NOT be sorry!

   MEET THE ASSOCIATE PRODUCERS!

Welcome to the Meet the Associate Producers section of the newsletter! Since so many fans and supporters have contributed and become associate producers, we wanted to take time to highlight some of these wonderful people! Thus, every month between now and the release of "Attack of the Moon Zombies," we will randomly choose and interview one of them.

This month we interview self-proclaimed "Mihmaholic," Nathan "Spooky Noodle" Thomas!

"Spooky Noodle"
Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!
My name is Nathan Thomas. I'm 32 and I'm a "Mihmaholic." I live in Elkhorn, Wisconsin which is only 25 miles from Mukwonago and Phantom Lake. I work in the heat treating industry and like long walks on the beach, adventures and cheesy movies. LOL! (NOTE: for those not well-versed in internet acronyms, "LOL" is a common abbreviation used online that stands for "laugh/ing out loud.")

When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?
I was introduced to Christopher R. Mihm's movie "Terror From Beneath the Earth" when it was the last movie of the night at the Hi-way 18 Outdoor Theatre in Jefferson, Wisconsin. I was hooked after the opening credits! After that night, I purchased that movie and a few weeks later the rest of his films. After showing my friends the films, they too have become "Mihmaholics."

Which of the five released films is your favorite and why?
My favorite would have to be "Cave Women on Mars." Even though I love the cheesy flicks, this one seemed different than the others. The acting was really good and not as over-the-top as some of the others and the dialog was fantastic. This movie seemed to me like it could do well in the mainstream theaters.

You recently became an associate producer of "Attack of the Moon Zombies." Why?
I became an associate producer to support the "cascading waterfall of creativeness" that is the Mihmiverse. I hope my contribution helps in the best way possible... for the purchase of duct tape and cardbooard! LOL!
Interested in becoming an associate producer? For a miniscule monetary investment, all associate producers will get their name listed in the end credits of next year's "Attack of the Moon Zombies," a pair of collector's tickets to the premiere, five copies of the film on DVD, and a frame-able certificate with their name and title -- perfect for your own "wall of fame!"

Visit the merchandise page at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, for more information. Who knows? Maybe next month we'll be interviewing YOU!
