We received an interesting email from the great state of Oregon today. It seems we have found our youngest "The Monster of Phantom Lake" super-fan!

Little Sonia is 2 years old and discovered the film when it played on Oregon public access earlier this year. She forced her parents to buy the DVD and has watched it countless times since. She refers to it as the "Seaweed Rawr" movie and, along with her older brother, loves to play made-up "Seaweed Rawr" games. According to her mother, she introduces everyone she comes into contact with to the world of "Seaweed Rawr."

Below you'll find photographic evidence of little Sonia's existence. If you look closely, she is wearing a homemade t-shirt that includes (at her insistence) all the things little girls love: hearts, kittens, flowers, rainbows and, of course, "The Monster of Phantom Lake!"

In an unprecedented feat, "The Monster of Phantom Lake" has taken home its second Best of the Fest award, this time at this past weekend's Big Damn Film Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. The film received the highest audience rating among all screened at the audience-judged festival.

"The Monster of Phantom Lake" sequel, "It Came From Another World!" came in third, earning its second Audience Choice award. Audience Choice awards are given to each of the top three audience rated films at the festival.

As we enter the waning months of summer, principal photography on the latest Saint Euphoria Pictures production, "Cave Women on Mars," comes to a close. Now begins the long, arduous process of post-production, including editing, special effects, mastering and DVD authoring. Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and co-producer Josh Craig look forward to the challenge and wish to express their thanks and gratitude to the entire cast and crew of the film.

Cave Women invade Sin City! The Saint Euphoria Pictures team (including Christopher R. Mihm, Josh Craig, and costumer/designer Brittany Hughes) descended upon the Home Media Expo in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada to promote Saint Euphoria Pictures. To help promote the upcoming film "Cave Women on Mars," they were joined by cast member Emily Fradenburgh (Gorga) who, in full costume, prowled the corridors of the Venetian Casino Hotel. As a result, Saint Euphoria Pictures (and "Cave Women on Mars" in particular) were the talk of the event, second only to an appearance by "The Dukes of Hazzard" star John Schneider (who obviously couldn't resist Gorga's evil charms) and the breaking of the world popcorn eating record by competitive eater Crazy Legs Conti.

The accolades keep rolling in for "It Came From Another World!" and "The Monster of Phantom Lake." Both films pulled in awards at the Cincinnati Big Damn Film Fetival. "The Monster of Phantom Lake" took second as one of the festival's top three audience-rated films and earned its fifth Audience Choice award while "It Came From Another World!" took home its first Audience Choice award by tying for third. Both films will appear at the Big Damn Film Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 18th. If you're in the area, come on down and do your part to help "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and "It Came From Another World!" continue their winning streaks!

This past weekend's screenings of "It Came From Another World!" in Chippewa Falls were a rousing success with lively crowds and tons o' fun! Also in attendance, a group of "super-fans" who brought props, including playing cards, "alien eyeballs" and canoe paddles! Below, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm poses with four of the super-fans! Josh Craig (Professor Jackson) and Mike Cook (Gustav) were also there to share in the festivities.

Big festival news! The producers of "It Came From Another World!" have just been informed that the film has been accepted to two film festivals: the 2007 Flint Film Festival and Shockerfest 2007! Actual screening dates & times have yet to be announced but as soon as they are, we'll post them here.

Held annually in Flint, Michigan, the Flint Film Festival's mission is to offer an established venue for viewing movies produced by independent film makers around the globe, to enhance the visibility of local filmmakers, and to offer young film makers a chance to grow and gain experience, while giving film patrons in the Flint area and beyond an opportunity to view an alternative to mainstream films.

ShockerFest celebrates independent sci-fi, fantasy, horror and animation and is to be held at the Galaxy 12 Theatre in Riverbank, California from October 6th though the 7th, 2007. ShockerFest International Film Festival was one of the first festivals of its type in the world. At the time it began, there were only a handful of genre festivals in the world. Sponsored by the Fireside Foundation, Inc., a California nonprofit corporation dedicated to the promotion and perpetuation of independent film, ShockerFest continues to grow annually. Proceeds from the festival provide film funding and scholarships, and assist the development of independent films.

Strong, attractive and tall with dark hair (REQUIRED as it involves a major plot point). Looking for men aged 25-32 with a good head of hair. This is the male lead who falls in love with the lead "Cave Woman."

Orla, a Martian warrior woman. She is the main female character's closest, most loyal friend and confidant. She is blonde (absolutely required), athletic and head strong between the ages of 20 and 30. Has a great death scene!

The Big Damn Film Festival website just posted the audience-rating results for this past weekend's festival stop in Madison and "The Monster of Phantom Lake" has done it again! The film was chosen as one of the top three audience rated films of the festival and earned another Audience Choice award. "The Monster of Phantom Lake" is the first film in the festival's short history to not only win multiple times in one season but earn back-to-back awards as well! Congratulations!

As if that weren't enough, we've FINALLY received the "audience choice" score "The Monster of Phantom Lake" received from the September 30th, 2006 screening at the Audience Choice Awards Monthly Independent Film Festival. The film averaged 8.65 (out of 10), which landed it in fourth place among all features screened at the festival AND second place among all features from outside northwest Indiana — another stunning achievement!

Happy birthday to "The Monster of Phantom Lake!" It was exactly one year ago today that the independent film was released to rave reviews and a packed house at the Heights Theatre in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. At that time, no one could have ever imagined the amount of recognition this little movie would get or how far it would go and yet, one year later, it's still going strong. What started out as a project the producers admittedly "made for fun," has become a legitimate, award-winning cult phenomenon!

"The Monster of Phantom Lake" returns to Wisconsin THIS WEEKEND!

After winning the "Best of the Fest" Audience Choice Award at the Minneapolis Big Damn Film Festival last month, everybody's favorite A-rockin' Professor returns to the Madison, Wisconsin area! The movie that made unnaturally long pauses cool again, "The Monster of Phantom Lake" will play for one-night-only at the Madison Big Damn Film Festival THIS WEEKEND! If we can get enough people out to the festival to see (and rate) the movie, we'll stand a good chance of winning again! We can't do it without your help!

The film is scheduled for Saturday, March 10th at 8:35 PM. This is a great opportunity to introduce friends and family members who have yet to experience the wacky majesty of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" to the "little movie that could." Since the REAL Phantom Lake in Mukwonago (where the movie takes place) isn't that far from Madison, there's no reason NOT to come!

Writer/Director Christopher R. Mihm will be in attendance and if you ask nice, he might spill some information about the recently finished sequel, "It Came From Another World!"
