Welcome to the fourth annual Mihmiverse Holiday Gift Guide! With the holidays upon us, this handy guide highlights all of the unique stuff out there that is either related to the films of the Mihmiverse or made by the great folks associated with the films' creation! Enjoy!

The Late Night Double Feature
This year, give the most unique gift of all: contribute to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next film, "The Late Night Double Feature," and dedicate it to your loved one!

Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!
For each small equal exchange* monetary investment of just $25.00 (per credit), all contributors will have a credit of their choosing listed in the closing credits of the film and receive one (1) copy of the finished film on DVD, one (1) collector's ticket to the world premiere and a customized, frame-able document certifying their participation!

Is there anything more unique or thrilling than giving the gift of your loved one's name on the big screen!? PLUS, order before December 20th and you'll receive a special, perfect-for-framing-and-wrapping, hand-signed letter from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm himself!

NOTE: A single credit is defined as the name of one (1) person or corporate entity. Any credit requiring the word "and," an ampersand (&), and/or a comma (except when part of a legal company name) will constitute multiple credits and MUST BE paid for separately.

* The contributor program is an "equal exchange" program, which means specifically that those participating have NO SAY in the decisions or actions taken by anyone involved in the actual production of the film and are NOT entitled to ANY possible future profits earned by the film, derivative works, and/or merchandise created for or featuring elements from the film. Participation in the contributor program does not entitle the participant to ANY ownership WHATSOEVER of the finished film or associated elements. In essence, all contributors are pre-ordering an equal exchange's worth of merchandise—and nothing more.

After a few delays and a busy Thanksgiving holiday, principal photography of "The Wall People" (the second half of the next Mihmiverse movie, "The Late Night Double Feature") is back on track, with only five days left! The shoot is scheduled to end on December 16th and, should no more delays befall the production, will wrap on that day. Keep all your fingers (and toes) crossed!

Speaking of "The Wall People," writer/director Christopher R. Mihm sent us the following behind-the-scenes photo (below). We honestly have no idea what's going on here, but based on this photo and the footage released on Halloween, it's clear that "The Wall People" may end up being the creepiest Mihmiverse film to date!

The world premiere of "The Late Night Double Feature" is currently set for Saturday, April 26th, 2014, with additional, super-fun Mihmiverse-related events scheduled the night before. More information will be made public early next year!

Don't forget! You can still join the dozens of others who have already contributed to "The Late Night Double Feature" and get your name (or your loved one's name or business) in the end credits—they make great gifts! In addition to an on-screen credit, everyone who contributes will receive a collector's ticket to the world premiere, a copy of the finished DVD and a cool, personalized certificate celebrating their contribution! And, as was mentioned in the gift guide above, if you order before December 20th, you will receive a special, perfect-for-framing-and-wrapping, hand-signed letter from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm himself!

Multiple-movie contributor (and host of Dog Works Radio) Robert Forto and Saint Euphoria Pictures, the distribution arm of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, are banding together to help Team Ineka (Mr. Forto's sled dog team) achieve its dream of running in the 2015 Iditarod!

We are asking for donations to be made to Team Ineka to help pay for all of the expenses associated with competing this event—an amount estimated near $40,000! AND, like the Mihmiverse, which began with one man's dream of making movies and has grown into the retro-cheesy-movie juggernaut it is today, it takes a lot of help from generous people like you to make these dreams reality!

What is the Mihmiverse getting out of this? Mr. Forto is currently in the process of setting up screenings of Mihmiverse films in Alaska (where, to date, none have screened publicly) AND the Saint Euphoria Pictures website URL (sainteuphoria.com) will be prominently displayed by the team throughout the event and in promotions for it! By contributing, you're not only helping Mr. Forto realize his dream, you'll be helping the Mihmiverse expand into new and exciting places!

For more information and/or to donate, please visit the Saint Euphoria Team Ineka page at sainteuphoria.com/ineka.html!

Justen Overlander (Ray/Sheriff Elliott/Jonathan) is proud to announce a FREE, private, invitation-only screening of his long-in-gestation, Mihmiverse-inspired comedy, "The Bequeather," December 10th, 7:00PM, at—where else?—The Heights Theater in Columbia Heights, MN (the same venue where EVERY Mihmiverse premiere has been held)!

Joining Justen in the cast is Mihmiverse favorite Daniel R. Sjerven (Howard Johnson) and a host of other wonderfully talented actors. Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, monster maker Mitch Gonzales, "monster-of-all-trades" Michael Kaiser, the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm, AND a handful of Mihmiverse monsters all make guest appearances!

To reserve a seat, you must RSVP via the website at (thebequeather.com) BEFORE December 3rd. Please list "Mihmiverse Newsletter" as the referrer.

The latest episode of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast is now available for download!

It's a blast from the distant Mihmiverse past!

Hosts Rhuby 'n' Hater, perma-co-host writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm, travel to Sawmill Pizza in Clear Lake, WI to interview the owners, married couple Emily Fradenburgh (Gorga from "Cave Women on Mars") and Dustin Booth (the tall, skinny polluter known only as "Toady Man" from "The Monster of Phantom Lake")!

Following a hearty meal of some of the tastiest pizza in the upper Midwest (go there, folks!), the assemblage talks about how the happy couple met, the early days of the Mihmiverse and indie film in general. Also, Mrs. Mihm shares her latest bad poem!

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)
Directed by Nicholas Webster
Starring John Call, Pia Zadora and Leonard Hicks

After watching too much Earth television, Martian children Girmar and Bomar realize how lonely and sad their lives are without Santa Claus. This so worries their parents that their father, Kimar, hatches a plan to travel to Earth, kidnap Santa and bring him back to Mars. Unfortunately, things go awry when the Martian Voldar (the villain of the film) changes heart and instead decides to kill Santa (for the sake of the purity of Martian society). Is Santa's magic and the power of belief enough to stop Voldar from destroying Christmas? More than likely, yes. The production design, make-up, acting, script, direction and generally EVERYTHING about this film is so bad, it jumps over that magical invisible line and becomes good—so good, in fact, it hurts! Currently available as a public domain title, you could easily find this movie online for free or in the dollar bin at your local retailer. I can't in good conscience "recommend" the film necessarily, but for as few "drive-in era" holiday movies as there are, it's certainly worth seeing, even if it's just once!
— Christopher R. Mihm

Since so many fans and supporters have become Mihmiverse contributors, we wanted to take time to highlight some of these wonderful people! Thus, every month between now and the release of "The Late Night Double Feature," we will randomly choose and interview one of them.

This month, we interview cryptozoologist and experienced monster hunter, Scott Wyatt!

Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!

I am Scott Wyatt of Bemidji, MN. I retired from full-time employment with the Minnesota Department of Health two years ago but am still working part-time performing fire safety evaluations at group homes for developmentally challenged clients. I also assist my old friends at Fedogan and Bremer Press, winner of the world fantasy award for their hardcover books of "pulpy horror" and "hard boiled crime."

"Weirder Shadows Over Innsmouth," edited by Stephen Jones, was released in September and "Worlds of Cthulhu," an anthology edited by Robert M. Price, was released in October 2012.

When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?

I was attending G-Fest in 2011 in Chicago (a convention for all things Godzilla and kaiju) when I saw a copy of "Cave Women on Mars" at a dealer's table. I purchased it and two other titles before the event ended and have since filled in all the blanks.

Which of the eight released films is your favorite and why?

You never get over your first love (and pouty lasses in abbreviated costumes have a certain charm), so Id have to say "Cave Women on Mars." However, you can't beat "The Giant Spider" for old-fashioned giant monster fun!

Why did you contribute to the next Mihmiverse film, "The Late Night Double Feature?"

I'm a masochist. Actually, I greatly enjoyed Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's "Grindhouse" double-feature and this looks to be even more low-budget, not-so sleazy fun!

Interested in becoming a contributor and seeing your name in the credits of "The Late Night Double Feature?" All contributors will get their name listed in the end credits of "The Late Night Double Feature," a ticket to the premiere, a copy of the film on DVD, and a frame-able certificate with their name and title—perfect for your own "wall of fame" OR as the world's most unique gift! Remember, if you order before December 20th, you will receive a special, perfect-for-framing-and-wrapping, hand-signed letter from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm himself!

Visit the contributor page at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, for more information. Who knows? Maybe next month we'll be interviewing YOU!

Thanksgiving was just a few days ago and, more than likely, you and your family have been eating leftovers for several days. Do you need a little change—maybe something without meat? With this recipe for Mock Manicotti, I have a tasty vegetarian dish that will satisfy even those meat lovers in your house!

Mock Manicotti

  • 3 cups (24 ounces) fat-free cottage cheese, drained
  • 1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 package (8 ounces) 1/3 less fat cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 lasagna noodles, cooked, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup meatless spaghetti sauce, optional (we used it—it added extra flavor!)
In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Spread 1/2 cup over each noodle; roll up jelly-roll style. Place seam side down in an 11-in. x 7-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Cover and bake at 350° for 35 minutes. Uncover; drizzle with spaghetti sauce if desired. Bake 10 minutes longer or until heated through.

Yield: 8 servings

My monsters ate this right up and the leftovers didn't even last the night! We give this yummy pasta dish 5 out of 5 "moon rocks." Enjoy with a garden salad and crusty garlic bread.

Be aware: this dish does take some preparation, so allow time for noodle rolling. Luckily, it can be made ahead of time and put in the refrigerator until 45 minutes before you want to eat.

You can find this recipe (and many more like it) and its corresponding nutrition information on the Taste of Home website!
