We've just posted the full text of another "The Monster of Phantom Lake" review, this time from the folks over at DreadCentral.com. The review is quite positive (with a few minor quibbles) and is worth a read! Check it out at the Press & Reviews page!

COOLEST UPDATE... EVER! "The Monster of Phantom Lake" has been officially picked up for DVD distribution! Shadow Creek Studios, a subsidiary of Braun Media Services, has signed an exclusive deal with the producers to distribute the film in retail and online outlets in the United States. A new "special edition," complete with additional special features, will be released first quarter 2007. As part of the deal, the current version of the DVD will no longer be available for sale on this website and can now be considered a collector's item!

Shadow Creek Studios has also signed a deal with writer/director/producer Christopher R. Mihm to distribute his next two films including "The Monster of Phantom Lake" sequel "It Came From Another World!" (currently in post-production) and "Cave Women on Mars" (slated for production summer 2007).

"It Came From Another World!" follows the continuing adventures of Professor Jackson as he deals with a dire threat from the deepest reaches of outer space! Josh Craig returns to his iconic role as the intrepid Professor in this non-linear sequel to "The Monster of Phantom Lake." Also stars Mike Cook and M. Scott Taulman as Canoe Cops Gustav and Sven (respectively).

"Cave Women on Mars" stars "The Monster of Phantom Lake's" Rachel Grubb and Invasion Iowa's Brooke Lemke. The film chronicles Earth's first manned mission to the red planet as astronauts Captain M. Jackson and Lieutenant E. George encounter a primitive race of humanoid women on the surface.

Correction! We mistakenly reported that "The Monster of Phantom Lake" would screen at the Twin Cities Underground Film Festival Revisited on December 9th, 2006. In reality, the festival is taking place on December 2nd, 2006. Sorry for the mix-up! The Screenings & Festivals page has been updated to reflect this change.

Principal photography on the new Professor Jackson adventure, "It Came From Another World!" is complete! Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has officially begun the long and arduous (but untimately rewarding) task of editing the over twenty-six hours of footage into a coherent narrative. The movie is currently on track for a March 2007 release.

Professor Jackson says:

Today... is election day!

It's your duty as a citizen to keep our country a-rockin', a-rollin', and all-the-way-a-ramblin'!

Don't forget... to VOTE!

We've just posted the full text of one of the best reviews "The Monster of Phantom Lake" has ever received. It was written by Duane L. Martin for Rogue Cinema and it's a highly recommended read! Check it out on the Press & Reviews page.

The producers of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" would like to thank the Parkway Speakeasy Theater in Oakland, California for hosting last night's Halloween screening. We were informed by those in attendance that the crowd was very enthusiastic with a full "A-Rockin'" sing-along!

Due to high demand, "The Monster of Phantom Lake" will have a special encore matinee screening Halloween afternoon at the Wisconsin Historical Museum. It will screen following author Linda S. Godfrey (The Beast of Bray Road: Tailing Wisconsin's Werewolf) and a screening of Edison's silent Frankenstein. Visit the Screenings & Festivals page for additional screening information.

We've been informed that the care packages arrived safely in Iraq! Apparently the film has already been shown multiple times. Many of the soldiers loved the monster but enjoyed the "babes of The Monster of Phantom Lake" much more! They're promising pictures soon. As soon as we get them, we'll post them here!

Friday night's "Late Night Halloween Madness!" screening was definitely more "treat" than "trick!" Not only was the audience lucky enough to catch the first seven minutes of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" sequel "It Came From Another World!" but the screening saw the largest collection of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" cast members collected in one place since the "Back By Popular Demand" screening in May! Photographic evidence can be found below!

The last day of major shooting on "It Came From Another World!" took place yesterday with the completion of Josh Craig's (Professor Jackson) speaking scenes. Exclusive production photos can be found below!

Also, we've posted the text of a random blog entry found about the Mukwonago Jack-o-Lantern Jaunt screenings. The text of the entry can be found on the Press & Reviews page.

Photos, left to right, top to bottom: the cast comes out for "Halloween Madness!" at the Woodbury 10 Theatre including, from left to right, Mike Mason (Lobo), Michael Kaiser (underneath Monster Head), M. Scott Taulman (Sven), Mike Cook (Gustav), Josh Craig (Professor Jackson), Leigha Horton (Stephanie), writer/director Christopher R. Mihm (Gruff Man) and Rachel Grubb (Amy), Josh Craig (Professor Jackson) and Shannon McDonough (Julie Ann Saint Marie) share a scene in "It Came From Another World", Mike Mason (Dr. Frasier) is trapped... but in what?!

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Huge update! This past weekend's screenings of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" were tons of fun and VERY successful. Despite being rather cold and damp, the Friday night screening at the Jack-o-Lantern Jaunt in Mukwonago, Wisconsin was attended by more than 200 people! Unfortunately, Saturday's weather didn't cooperate, with a cold rain falling on eastern Wisconsin throughout the night. But a little rain couldn't stop "The Monster of Phantom Lake!" The screening was simply moved into the Field Park pavilion where 50+ die-hard moviegoers braved the freezing cold to watch the film! Photos from the Jack-o-Lantern Jaunt can be found below!

In addition to the screenings in Wisconsin and New Jersey, "The Monster of Phantom Lake" was featured as a "human interest" story on the 5 o'clock news on the ABC affiliate (channel 12) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! Writer/Director Christopher R. Mihm was interviewed by the stunning Caroline Lyders on the shores of the REAL Phantom Lake. We are attempting to obtain permission to post the video on this site. When (and if) we receive it, we'll post it on the Downloads page!

Finally, we've posted the text of an article that appeared in the October 18th, 2006 issue of The Mukwonago Chief. You can read it in its entirety at the Press & Reviews page.

"The Monster of Phantom Lake" has just been preliminarily accepted to the It Came From Lake Michigan Independent Film Festival! The festival is dedicated to promoting independent horror, sci-fi and fantasy films in the midwestern United States.

The objective of the film festival is to help independent filmmakers promote their work and to be something in direct opposition to all of those "artsy" film festivals out there that often turn their noses up at all the great work people are contributing to the independent horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres.

We do not yet know exactly when the screening will take place. We will update the Screenings & Festivals page as soon as more information is made available!

This past weekend's drive-in screenings of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" at the Hi-Way 18 Outdoor Theatre were a HUGE success. The weather held up (for the most part) with as many as 700 cars full of people attending.

Despite on-and-off light rain, Sunday's special "dusk-til-dawn" event was the highlight of the weekend. "The Monster of Phantom Lake" screened as the third feature out of five, preceded by recent family films "Barnyard" and "Over the Hedge" and followed by such classics as the original "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" and 1973 cult classic "Westworld." Josh Craig (Professor Jackson), Mike Cook (Gustav), M. Scott Taulman (Sven) and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm were all on hand for the festivities. Photos can be found below!

The producers of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" would like to personally thank all the fine people at the Hi-Way 18 Outdoor Theatre for making this weekend (and last night in particular) so perfect. To have had the opportunity to screen the film at a REAL drive-in theater was an unimaginably wonderful experience and truly a dream-come-true!

In other news, today we bring you some VERY special photos courtesy of Elizabeth Kaiser's "Stargate Make-a-Wish" trip! Elizabeth helped design and construct the monster costume, is the younger sister of the actor who played the monster and is the namesake of Deanne McDonald's character in "The Monster of Phantom Lake."

In late 2004, Elizabeth was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare primary bone cancer found most often in children. She completed a full course of treatment in 2005 and has been disease free ever since!

Principal photography has begun! As of 9:00PM, Wednesday, July 26th, 2006, one full scene from the next Professor Jackson adventure, "It Came From Another World!" is "in the can." Mike Mason, who plays new character Dr. Frasier, and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm were both present for the inaugural shoot in the sweltering, summer heat. A special thanks goes out to Paul Stepnes, who was kind enough to provide the location for this pivotal scene.

We'd also like to thank Mike 'n' Molly's Pub in Champaign, Illinois for hosting two screenings of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" this past Sunday and Wednesday. We truly appreciate the opportunity they gave us to screen our film. By all accounts, both nights were successful for all involved. In fact, we were contacted by one person who caught the Sunday screening and enjoyed it so much, he claims he "laughed so hard he nearly peed his pants." Doesn't get any better than that!

We have finalized details for a special double screening in Mukwonago, Wisconsin. Check out Screenings & Festivals for more information!

We've added another article about the upcoming screenings in Champaign, Illinois to the Press section.

We have officially reached an agreement with the Highway 18 Outdoor Theater in Jefferson, Wisconsin! We are tentatively scheduled to screen as part of a triple feature over Labor Day weekend! Stay tuned to the Screenings & Festivals page as we will update it the very moment we have the exact date and time!

In somewhat sad news, although we intended to include an appearance by the actual Monster of Phantom Lake at this Friday's Late Night Madness! screening, unfortunately, the costume did not survive as well as we originally thought. However, the actor who played the monster, Michael Kaiser, WILL be in attendance so you get the next best thing! We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Meet the newest member of the Saint Euphoria Pictures/All For George Productions family... Shannon McDonough!

Shannon has been officially cast as Julie Ann Saint Marie, the female lead in the next Professor Jackson adventure, "It Came From Another World!" Currently in pre-production, "It Came From Another World!" chronicles the further exploits of everyone's favorite a-rockin' college instructor, Professor Jackson, as he is once again tasked with saving the human race from destruction, this time in the guise of a horrific threat from the deepest reaches of outer space!

The producers would like to thank all the talented women who auditioned for the part. It was a real honor and pleasure to have met you all. It was a tight race but in the end, Shannon won us over with her unique performance!

Don't forget! "The Monster of Phantom Lake" screens tonight, July 7th, 9:00PM at The Palace Theater ($5.00 at the door) in Syracuse, New York! Visit the Screenings & Festivals page for more information!

Sunday, July 2nd, 2006

We'd like to extend a special thank you to the Madison Chamber of Commerce and The Grand Theater in Madison, MN (Lutefisk capital of the USA) for hosting two screenings on June 30th and July 1st! The Grand was built in the 1940's and still contains many of the original seats and decor! It was a real treat to experience the film in the heart of "Main Street, USA." We may not have had the biggest audiences but they were, by far, some of the best screenings yet!

A possible Minneapolis, Minnesota screening tentatively scheduled for August 3rd. This screening will be part of a fundraiser for Minneapolis Citizens for Park Board Reform.

Preliminary discussions have begun for a special double-feature of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and another as-yet-determined indie horror/comedy at Mike n' Molly's pub in Champaign, Illinois.

Last but not least, a special weekend of outdoor screenings in the very town in which "The Monster of Phantom Lake" takes place: Mukwonago, Wisconsin! Every year the town throws an event called the Jack-o-Lantern Jaunt where Field Park (located in central Mukwonago) is decorated with hundreds of carved pumpkins. This year, the town is planning to show "The Monster of Phantom Lake" as part of the festivities. The Jack-o-Lantern Jaunt is currently scheduled for October 20th & 21st, 2006.

Another day, another GREAT review! A columnist for the Flint Journal caught "The Monster of Phantom Lake" when it screened at the Flint Film Festival and he seemed quite impressed!
"...the best of the features I saw was "The Monster of Phantom Lake," a hilarious parody of grade-D horror/sci-fi films of the 1950s. Made by a Minnesota company, the film is full of cheesy dialogue, improbable plot turns and a dead-on performance by Josh Craig as a stuffy "man of science" who has none of the right answers but can strum a rock 'n' roll song on his handy guitar.

According to the film's Web site, a "Phantom Lake" sequel already is in the works, with Craig reprising his role as "Professor Jackson ... from the university." Here's hoping we'll see it in a future Flint Film Festival."
The full article has been added to the "Press" section of the site.

We've also added the ability to order "The Monster of Phantom Lake" DVDs through the mail (by check!) AND reduced the shipping & handling price to $2.50 per DVD! Buy yours today in the "Buy the DVD" section!
