BIG NEWS!

We just received word from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm that the script for his next film, "Demon with the Atomic Brain," is complete! According to him, this is going to be the most fun and action-packed Mihmiverse movie EVER!

Click HERE to contribute to the production!

Pre-production has begun with Mihmiverse Master Monster Maker Mitch Gonzales beginning his work creating the creatures which will populate the film. Casting is underway and the first Mihmiverse open audition since 2007 is quickly filling up. Auditions will be held on Thursday, December 22nd at the Ramsey County Library in Roseville, MN from 5PM-9PM. The movie will be shot during the first quarter (and a bit into the second) of 2017 with a release window toward the end of the year.

Roles available:

Dr. Adams - The main character, 30-40, a smart, tough scientist who comes from the world of academia. Female. This character appears in almost EVERY SCENE in the film. The script is close to 80 pages long so this will be a large time commitment.

Sergeant Carlson - a dashing, by-the-book soldier. In his 30s/very early 40s. Lead role. Male.

Specialist Agar - a somewhat brash but charming soldier. Dr. Adams' flirty love interest. 30-40. Lead role. Male.

Specialists McCarthy and Morrow - soldiers. Mid 20s to early 40s. Minor roles, both with lines. Both Male.

Dr. Denning - a mild-mannered, middle-aged scientist. Some running and minor action required. Has lines. Male.

If you're interested in securing an audition spot, send your headshot and resume to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm at chris@sainteuphoria.com. He will contact you to discuss what he's looking for and what you need to prepare.

Good luck!

As always, we'll keep you updated whenever we have anything new to report! In the meantime, please contribute to the production of the film, get your name in the end credits and receive a bunch of cool swag!

The final poster design for the next great Mihmiverse film has officially arrived!

Billed as "the most controversial film EVER made," the "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter" poster was created by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and, though it looks quite similar to the teaser image released when the film was announced, Mr. Mihm received so much praise for the design, he decided not to "fix" what wasn't broken! Also, according to a box located in the lower left quadrant of the poster, the film is being "Presented in Shocking Plaz-Mo-Scope." We're not entirely sure what that MEANS, but consider us very curious as to what Mr. Mihm is up to!

The poster is already available for purchase in our online store! Head over to the posters section of our merchandise page to order yours TODAY!

If you would like to view a larger version of the poster, drag your mouse pointer over the image to the right and a bigger (and easier to see) version will automatically pop-up!

"The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!" OPENS TONIGHT for the world to experience firsthand! Get your tickets NOW at monsterofphantomlake.com! All shows still have seats available!

In honor of this momentous occasion, we've received the following message from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm...

"The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!" began innocently enough when Adam Boll approached me about adapting my first film into a stage musical. From there it took several years before my movie-making schedule opened up enough for me to actually tackle the project. Adam and I went back and forth on the script and eventually came up with something that REALLY works. Meanwhile, he set about creating some seriously amazing and VERY CATCHY tunes which continue to impress me greatly every time I hear them! Enter Mike Cook (Gustav/Dr. Edwards), who, over a dinner of schnitzel and sausages in Hudson, WI, volunteered to lend his many years of theater experience to bring the new musical to life!

Next, Cherie "Rhuby" Gallinati (Paddle Girl Boss/Gilliam) was brought in to help Mike and Adam with the early planning stages and stuff really started to happen! We launched the Kickstarter campaign and, in the short span of 30-odd days, it achieved all of its goals and the inaugural production hit the ground running!

The team assembled a top-notch mélange of actors, musicians and technicians and we held an initial script readthrough/music sampling party. A professional cast album (which will be available AT THE SHOW) was recorded and mixed. I continued to work way-way-behind-the-scenes creating art for the poster, CD, etc., mastering the audio for the cast recording and handling the programming/design of the ticketing website. Meanwhile, the cast and crew worked their BUTTS OFF to get the show ready to present to the public!

Just two days ago I was able to see the show in its entirety for the first time and I was sincerely blown away. I sat in the back of the historic Mabel Tainter theater and quite honestly had trouble keeping the tears from my eyes. To see a goofy (and strangely enduring) little film I created so many years ago morph into something so magnificent is pretty hard to take! The cast is spot on, the musicians are incredible, Mike's direction is perfect (and it's clear he was the absolute BEST choice to make this happen), the sets and lights and really EVERYTHING is WONDERFUL beyond words.

To the cast and crew, I have complete faith that you're going to break ALL THE LEGS during the production run! To everyone who gets to experience this firsthand this weekend, you're in for a HELL of a treat! For those of you who are unable to make it, fear not, I'm filming it and will be editing all of the dress rehearsals and actual shows into a nice little DVD memento which SHOULD be out by the end of the year. If you're on the fence about going, GET OFF THAT DAMN FENCE AND JUST GO! It's too freakin' hot outside to do anything anyway and the theater is nice and air-conditioned! Come in out of the sticky heat and enjoy a little bit of magic. I promise you WILL NOT regret it!

Most importantly, I must extend my deepest of heartfelt thanks to the insanely talented Adam Boll for approaching me with this idea. In our little creative partnership, his is clearly the better half! His tireless pursuit of creating this beautiful piece of art (including, but not limited to, holding my feet to the fire to GET IT DONE) is the true reason this is even happening!

During these tense and humorless times in which the world finds itself, happy diversions like "The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!" are far more important than not. I'm beyond happy to be standing with Adam, Mike, Rhuby, the cast and crew, the Kickstarter backers and the entirety of the Mihmiverse in presenting our little musical slice of joy to the world—I love you all!

SEE YOU TONIGHT!

If Mr. Mihm's message isn't enough to entice you to go, perhaps the following photo will. It was taken during one of the dress rehearsals and depicts a scene where Elizabeth (played by the talented-beyond-her-years Greta Kernkamp) sings a little tune about being "Afraid of Everything!"

BIG NEWS!

As of 9:00PM on this past Saturday evening, principal photography of the next great Mihmiverse film, "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter," is COMPLETE!

Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm asked us to pass on his deep appreciation to everyone who made it possible from the contributers to the cast and crew! Now begins the long process of editing the footage into the amazing piece of retro cinema it's destined to become!

DON'T FORGET! You can STILL contribute to the production and receive a credit in the finished film! Just because the shooting process is complete, it doesn't mean there aren't still a lot of expensive things to pay for—like the world premiere, DVD replication, website hosting...the list goes on and on! AND, interest in this particular film is running very high! Contributing to the film is the ONLY WAY to guarantee admittance to the big world premiere in the fall. Whatever you do, don't pass up the opportunity to attend what might be the biggest Mihmiverse premiere yet!

To contribute to the film, click HERE!

Don't hesitate—as the film inches ever closer to completion, the opportunity will eventually disappear forever!

EXCLUSIVE NEWS!

We've finally been given permission to reveal some information about a top secret project writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has been quietly working on for the last few months!

"Canoe Cops: The Beginning"

Billed as the first-ever Mihmiverse monthly YouTube series, "Canoe Cops: The Beginning" will follow young versions of everybody's favorite canoe-based policemen, Sven and Gustav, as they tackle a series of wacky Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew/Scooby Doo-esque adventures! The show will start by showing how the two popular characters met, and then send them out into the wider Mihmiverse to solve mysteries both of- and out-of-this world!

The series is currently in the scripting phase and the plan is to debut the show sometime around Christmas 2016. The two principal roles have already been cast with Elliott Mihm, who played the title role in "Danny Johnson Saves The World," set to take on the role of young Gustav, and RJ Lundgren, who played Red in the same film, tapped to play Sven.

If you weren't present at last night's 10th anniversary screening of "The Monster of Phantom Lake," you missed out on something truly special!

The event began with pizza, soda, cookies and marshmallow crispy rice treats and was followed by a screening of the first Mihmiverse film in 3D! Afterwards, attendees competed in several activities including "The Monster of Phantom Lake" trivia (the winner of which took home a nifty "basement Jesus" painting), a "Dear God, NO!" contest judged by James Norgard (Dr. Gabriel), a rousing game of "Fling-the-Frog" in which participants had to throw rubber frogs into a not-particularly-large bowl while facing AWAY from their target AND a very aggressive game of musical chairs!

All things considered, the event served as a fitting tribute to a movie that spawned an entire cinematic universe!

"The Monster of Phantom Lake" 10th Anniversary Edition DVDs are NOW AVAILABLE! Join us for the "The Monster of Phantom Lake" 10th Anniversary Viewing Party—in 3D!

On March 9th, 2006, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's first film, "The Monster of Phantom Lake," held its world premiere at the Heights Theater in Columbia Heights, MN to a near sold-out crowd. The audience laughed, sang along and, in general, had a fantastic time! When the final credits rolled, the crowd broke into a rousing cheer before filing into the lobby to buy DVDs and posters and eat a cake shaped like the title creature's head. At the end of that night, few could have expected that ten years later, "the little movie that could" would give birth to a series of movies now collectively known as the Mihmiverse.

In honor of this important Mihmiverse milestone, writer/director Christopher R. Cool "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter" news—with photographic evidence!

This past weekend writer/director Christopher R. Mihm gathered the film's principal players in his home to do a "table read" of the film's finished script. As you can see from the photo below, the cast and crew includes several familiar faces, including (from left to right) Mitch Gonzales (who, not surprisingly, will be creating creature costumes for the film and playing a small role), Mark Haider, James Norgard, Rachel Grubb (who hasn't appeared in a Mihmiverse film since 2008's "Cave Women on Mars!"), Douglas Sidney and the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm.

Pizza was eaten, the script was read and the cast and crew in attendance agreed "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter" marks a distinctly dark departure from Mr. Mihm's previous work! We have been reassured, however, it will fit in nicely with the other Mihmiverse films AND will have a VERY COOL tie into the other movies in the series!

The first episode of 2016 of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast is here!

Last month, the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast crew welcomed several guests for the "Big Dumb Christmas Spectacular" episode, one of them being Mitch Obrecht, the man known collectively as the "King of the Superfans." Mr. Obrecht having been a part of the Mihmiverse in some way since the very early days (including coining the term "Mihmiverse"), hosts Rhuby 'n' Hater decided Mitch deserved his OWN podcast—so here it is!

Recorded immediately after last month's episode, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and Mr. Obrecht's "minion" Dakota Hardisty joined the hosts and their guest to talk about Mitch's introduction to the 'verse, his thoughts on the state of current genre fandom, conventions, "Star Trek" and much, much more!

Visit the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast page to download the episode!

We did it!

Today was the last day of the "The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!" crowd-funding campaign and, through a combination of online and offline contributions, every goal of the campaign was met! This means, of course, that the play WILL BE performed at the historic Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts AND an original cast recording of all the songs in the show will be created, released and made-available for purchase!

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our campaign and made it so successful! In the meantime, as more information becomes available, we will keep you apprised!

Stay tuned...
