A little news of the weird...

Following a freak December RAINSTORM in Minnesota yesterday, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm was suprised to find an inch of water sitting in the corner of an unfinished "Attack of the Moon Zombies" set! Luckily, with the help of an oscillating fan and a thorough mopping, Mr. Mihm was able to salvage the set and everything in it, allowing the production to continue on schedule!

For those inclined to celebrate it...

To try our best to make sure you get your stuff in time, all orders placed between now and Monday, December 20th will be mailed THAT DAY! Don't run out of time! ORDER NOW before it's TOO LATE!

Principal photography of the next Mihmiverse film, "Attack of the Moon Zombies," has surpassed the half-way point!

The script for the new film contains exactly 40 scenes. This past Tuesday, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm shot the twenty-first scene, thus taking the production "over the hump!" The scene in question involved Stephanie Mihm as Dr. Rutherford, Michael Kaiser as Glen Hayes, and Sid Korpi as Administrator Ripley. We're told it is a pivotal scene in the film but, sadly, were given few details.

Principal photography is scheduled to continue through the middle of February. The production is currently on-schedule for a Spring 2011 release -- we're guessing sometime around Memorial Day!

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

We just posted the December Phantom Lake Almanac, the official newsletter of the films of Christopher R. Mihm. This month's issue includes the first-ever Mihmiverse holiday gift guide, the next "Countdown to Moon Zombies" video from superfans Bob n' Rob, a review of 1957's "The Astounding She-Monster," an interview with associate producer Mario Giguère, and much more! Read it now or risk not finding that perfect, unique Mihmiverse-related gift for that Mihmiverse-obsessed-loved-one!

From all of us here in the Mihmiverse...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

We realize it's been unusually quiet around here lately but it's not without good reason! With the coming holidays and the intense shooting schedule for "Attack of the Moon Zombies," it's been busy, busy, busy! Regardless, we have something very cool to announce today!

Another artist has taken a crack at plush versions of the monsters of the Mihmiverse -- and in a completely different style from artist Brenda Fulmer's awesome plush monsters! Crafted by Angel McFarlin of Saint Angel Productions, these are a bit simpler and more stylized, but certainly no less cool! Unfortunately, we aren't sure when exactly they'll be available for purchase or even how much they'll cost. For now, we'll all just have to be happy with the incredible photos below!

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Check this out!

We were JUST sent this truly remarkable image by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm. The object pictured is a prop that was created specifically for "Attack of the Moon Zombies!" It's a tease, to be sure, and doesn't really tell us much about the new film. However, if you're not sure why we're so jazzed by an image of an old vinyl single, look closer! Apparently, in the Mihmiverse timeline, at some point following Professor Jackson's debut of his "rock n' roll" tune in "The Monster of Phantom Lake," the song was recorded and someone bought a copy that survived into the 1970s!

The level of detail on this prop is truly amazing. And, we're being told that at some point something related to this prop WILL appear as an exclusive collectible. It goes without saying that we're both excited AND intrigued!

Last (but never least), on this Veteran's Day, the staff here at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, would like to take this opportunity to thank and salute all those who served or are currently serving in the armed forces. Your service and sacrifices will never be forgotten nor taken for granted.

Thank you!

SHE MADE IT!

Beyond being the big day of the first-ever Super Mihmiverse Marathon in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, today is an insanely important day in the Mihmiverse: actor/production-assistant/monster-costume-maker/script-girl/inspiration Elizabeth Kaiser (known to most as Alice Johnson in "Terror from Beneath the Earth") is now OFFICIALLY CURED of cancer!

Elizabeth was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (primary bone cancer) in 2004 and received her last bag of chemo therapy on October 30th, 2005 -- exactly five years ago today. For those that don't know, reaching this magical five-year mark without reoccurance is considered "cured" in the cancer world. So happy cure day, Elizabeth! Though you may not know it, you're an inspiration to many and we here at SaintEuphoria.com are pleased-as-punch that you made it!

After a long weekend of filming "Attack of the Moon Zombies," actors Bob Arndt (Dr. Banks) and Geoffrey Miller (Dr. Ito) have completed all of their scenes for the upcoming film -- the first to be done! We're told Mr. Miller did a great job with his one line and Mr. Arndt, playing a character fans are going to "love to hate," performed magnificently! Congratulations to the newest members of the Mihmiverse!

In the interest of "full disclosure," Bob Arndt is the cousin of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's wife, Stephanie -- who is best known for playing the characters Rosemary in "Terror from Beneath the Earth" and Index in "Destination: Outer Space." Geoffrey Miller and Mr. Mihm have known each other and been friends since the fourth grade -- more than 20 years!

It was a long, exhausting weekend of Mihmiverse screenings but when all was said and done, everyone who attended one (or more) had an excellent time! Below you'll find a pair of images from Saturday's Jack-o-Lantern Jaunt. Not only did A.D.A.M. from "Destination: Outer Space," writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, and horror host extraordinaire Dr. Ivan Cryptosis show up, so did super-fan (and "Attack of the Moon Zombies" associate producer) Nathan "Spooky Noodle" Thomas -- and, as you can see, he was all decked-out in his homemade replica of the monster costume from "The Monster of Phantom Lake!" Excellent work, Mr. Thomas! The "Mihmiverse quartet" greeted eventgoers and thrilled kids of all ages with their spooky (but fun) antics!

Speaking of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's first film, we just received word that "The Monster of Phantom Lake" has been accepted to the Drunken Zombie Film Festival!" To be held November 5th through the 7th at the Peoria Theater in Peoria, Illinois, this event is mainly geared at hardcore horror fans who want to check out the best that indie horror has to offer. This is the first time a Mihmiverse film has been accepted to this annual event. The film is set to screen on Saturday, November 6th at 1:45PM. Check out the screenings page for more information!

And, a special congratulations goes out to "The Monster of Phantom Lake!" Released almost five years ago, this "monster" of a film continues to land in the top spot of most fans' Mihmiverse film rankings AND manages to screen often in many different parts of the world -- not many other films made for less than $5,000 can claim that honor!

A.D.A.M., Dr. Ivan Cryptosis, and The Monster of Phantom Lake
Alas, poor monster... I knew him well.

"Destination: Outer Space" has been accepted to the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival!

The festival is in its eighth iteration and being held in conjunction with the 36th annual ValleyCon: The Fargo Entertainment Expo! The film will screen at 3:00PM on Saturday, October 16th. Check out the screenings page for more information!

This is the second Mihmiverse film to screen at this event -- "The Monster of Phantom Lake" was shown back in 2006.

How incredible is this!?

Nathan "Spooky Noodle" Thomas
We were just sent this cooler-than-cool photo of super-fan and "Attack of the Moon Zombies" associate producer Nathan "Spooky Noodle" Thomas in his very own homemade "The Monster of Phantom Lake" costume! Mr. Thomas says it's not quite finished but even so, we're insanely impressed by the level of authentic detail put into it! Needless to say, we CANNOT wait to see it complete -- and we'll make sure to get photos when it is!

In other news, principal photography on "Attack of the Moon Zombies" continues. This past Saturday, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and the production crew filmed the first scene with returning favorite Mike Cook as Dr. Edwards, the iconic character last seen in 2009's "Terror from Beneath the Earth". Also, actress Sid Korpi (known previously as the Eh'Donish Woman in "Destination: Outer Space") was there for the first time to film a scene that featured more than just her voice. All things considered, the shoots were long but everyone in attendance had a great deal of fun. As proof, Sid even blogged about her experience here!

To date, six scenes (of forty) are "in the can" (which is movie lingo for "having been filmed") and of those six, four have already been edited. The film is currently keeping pace with the shoot schedule and, should everything work out just right, the movie will be ready just in time for next Memorial Day!

This past weekend's pair of Mihmiverse triple-features at the Stardust Drive-in was an overwhelming success! For a triple-feature of black and white 1950s-style independent films screening at a drive-in in rural Wisconsin on a somewhat chilly weekend in October, attendance was superb and everyone involved was EXTREMELY happy! If you weren't able to make it out, as long as the phase of the moon cooperates (the nature of digital drive-in projection makes it impractical to screen in bright moonlight), the films of Christopher R. Mihm will be back next year!

In the meantime, check out these photos from the event -- which clearly demonstrate the old adage, "Even robots love popcorn!"

Even robots love popcorn!

Check it out!

Also, don't forget to come to the Stardust Drive-in Theatre in Chetek, Wisconsin tonight and/or tomorrow for the Sci-Fi Weekend Triple Feature of "Terror from Beneath the Earth," "Destination: Outer Space," and "The Monster of Phantom Lake!" Check out the screenings page for more information!

We've just received ANOTHER great sneak peek photo from the "Attack of the Moon Zombies!"

Shannon McDonough as Dr. Hackett in "Attack of the Moon Zombies!"
This time we get a full-color shot of actress Shannon McDonough (best known to all as Julie Ann Saint Marie) in full costume! We're told this photo came from Shannon's first day of shooting that took place this past Wednesday. In addition to a clear look at the costumes for the new film, we get to see Shannon's very un-Julie-Ann-Saint-Marie blonde 'do!

All in all, this photo really whets our appetite (no pun intended when discussing a zombie film) for the awesomeness that is will be this next Mihmiverse movie!

P.S. Don't get too excited about the color photo. We've been reassured the final product will be in glorious, era-appropriate black and white!

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

They're coming!

Attack of the Moon Zombies!
Principal photography for writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next monster-ific opus, "Attack of the Moon Zombies" has begun! And, to prove it, we've received this tantalizing photo (right) from the ever-teasing filmmaker! For this early in the process, we rarely receive images that give us so much to analyze.

First, we get a pretty clear idea of the particular visual aesthetic the production team is going for: stark whites, curved doors, and bulkier technology -- which makes a certain amount of sense since this film takes place ten years prior to the events depicted in "Cave Women on Mars."

Lastly, we get a nice, scary little hint as to what monster-maker Mitch Gonzales' moon zombie design may look like. As mentioned in the synopsis (found here), the zombification process has something to do with alien planet spores. Judging by the way this creature's hands look, we think it's safe to say the "plant theme" may be more prevalent in the final design than not! Also, since this IS a Mihmiverse movie, we're assuming the creature will have big googly eyes, as well! Granted, we're honestly not sure, but it's more than likely a pretty safe bet.

If you're interested in being one of the first people to see the moon zombie design, we've been told the special "Attack of the Moon Zombies" sneak peek for Five-Film Pass holders at the Super Mihmiverse Marathon on October 30th will reveal the monster in its entirety! So, if you really needed extra incentive to attend that event, we think this is as good as it gets!

Check it out!

With principal photography on writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next film, "Attack of the Moon Zombies," scheduled to begin in less than one week, we bring you a very cool video sent to us by actor and super-fan Bob Arndt. The video is a small "documentary" of Mr. Arndt's trek to last May's world premiere of "Destination: Outer Space." It does a great job of capturing the event and the large crowd that attended. We asked Mr. Arndt if it'd be alright for us to post the film and he happily obliged!

In the interest of full disclosure, Bob (Robert) Arndt appeared in "Destination: Outer Space" as both the monster from "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and the "antennae alien" who bumps into Captain Jackson (as he's entering the alien tavern on the ice planet Snox) and is throttled by the alien bouncer Lort (played by Rylan Bachman). He is set to play a scientist named Dr. Banks in "Attack of the Moon Zombies." He is also a first cousin of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's wife, Stephanie Mihm! Stephanie was last seen as Index in "Destination: Outer Space" and best known as Rosemary from "Terror from Beneath the Earth."

Also, we've created a new YouTube channel specifically for videos relating to the Mihmiverse! The Mihmiverse channel will feature trailers, previews, and exclusive videos so make sure to subscribe right away and start embedding these videos EVERYWHERE you can! Only through word-of-mouth exposure will the Mihmiverse truly thrive and be able to continue bringing you kinds of the movies and entertainment you love so well -- so get out there and share!

Check it out the Mihmiverse channel at http://www.youtube.com/mihmiverse!

We just posted the full text of a great article that appeared in yesterday's Shoreview-Arden Hills Bulletin. The article tells the story behind writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's new affiliation with the Blue Moon Dine-in Theater at the Minnesota Sate Fair. It's an entertaining article so visit the press page and give it a read!

Also today, it was brought to our attention that genre blog Monster Island News has posted the first ten women from their "100 Most Popular (Sexiest) Women In Movies, TV, SciFi And Fantasy" -- and right there at #94 is our very own Julie Ann Saint Marie: Shannon McDonough! Congrats, Shannon! We here at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, are confident she will be moving much farther up the list after the release of "Attack of the Moon Zombies!" Only time will tell!

Last Saturday's Mihmiverse meet n' greet at the Blue Moon Dine-in Theater at the Minnesota State Fair was such a great time, we just had to share a few photos! In addition to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, the past, present, and future of the Mihmiverse was out in force, with appearances by actors Sid Korpi (Eh'Donish Woman/Administrator Ripley), Anthony Kaczor (Eh'Donish Man/Dr. Phillips), Shannon McDonough (Julie Ann Saint Marie), "monster of all trades" Michael Kaiser, Elizabeth Kaiser (Alice Johnson), James Norgard (Dr. Gabriel), Rylan Bachman (Lort), and Josh Craig (Professor/Director/Captain Jackson)!

As a special treat, A.D.A.M. the robot, last seen in "Destination: Outer Space," visited to take photos with fairgoers. He was even seen hanging out in the crowd for the 10 o'clock KSTP (channel 5, Twin Cities ABC affiliate) newscast!

Photos, from left to right: (top row) a young fairgoer is excited to see a robot, A.D.A.M. at the fair, (middle row) fairgoers enjoy a scene from "Destination: Outer Space," "Terror from Beneath the Earth" as seen from the Blue Moon Dine-in Theater's counter, (bottom row) Michael Kaiser (Deputy Hayes/The Monster/Ojjo/The Bat/A.D.A.M./Oculon/Ominai/Glen Hayes), Elizabeth Kaiser (Alice Johnson), and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm sell DVDs and enjoy the beautiful weather, the films of the Mihmiverse!

More screening news!

"It Came From Another World!" will screen with the 1959 schlock masterpiece "Teenagers from Outer Space" as part of the Drunken Zombie Monthly Deadly Double Feature program at the Peoria Theater in Peoria, Illinois. The event will take place on Saturday, September 25th and start at 9:00PM. One of the country's only full-bar-equipped theaters dedicated to lesser-known, non-mainstream films, the Peoria Theater specializes in inexpensive entertainment, unique food and snacks, and drink specials. Check out the screenings page for more specific location information!

Don't forget: starting today, all five of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's films will be screening everyday at the Blue Moon Dine-in Theater at the Minnesota State Fair! In a sea of fried and/or on-a-stick delicacies, the Blue Moon specializes in "sit down food" in an airy, shaded building filled with old car seats and benches facing a movie screen which features classic B-movies, old television shows and, for the first time ever, the films of the Mihmiverse! The Blue Moon Dine-in Theater is located on the corner of Carnes Avenue and Chambers Street (in the fairgrounds, naturally) near the Grandstand, KSTP (channel 5), Sweet Martha's Cookie Jar, and just around the corner from the Big Slide.

We hope to see you there!

Big screening news!

Since the release of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" way back in 2006, October has always been a great month for Mihmiverse screenings and events. This October, we top all previous years combined with the first ever Super Mihmiverse Marathon!

Starting at 1:00PM on Saturday, October 30th, all five Mihmiverse films will screen back to back to back to back to back at the Grand Little Theatre in Eau Claire, Wisconsin! In addition to supporting the films (half the door will go right into the budget for "Attack of the Moon Zombies"), a large portion of the proceeds from this event will go to help the theater raise enough money to better accomodate patrons with disabilities by installing an elevator. This event is open to everyone and, being that it's a day before Halloween, costumes are very much encouraged! A few Mihmiverse monsters will even be there so bring your camera and get your photo snapped with one -- or more!

Advance tickets are now available for $5.00 per single movie or $20.00 for a five-film pass. All five-film pass holders (purchased either in advance or at the door) will receive an exclusive, individually numbered collector's ticket AND be treated to a special end-of-the-night sneak peek of next year's "Attack of the Moon Zombies" that will not be shown anywhere else... EVER. Hope to see you all there!

SPECIAL BONUS! For a limited time, if you become an associate producer (at any level) before Labor Day (September 6th), you'll earn a free five-film pass to this event! Don't miss this great opportunity to see exactly where your support is going by being one of the first people ANYWHERE to catch a glimpse of "Attack of the Moon Zombies!"

As always, to stay up on all events and screenings, check out the screenings page!

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Though it's been relatively quiet around here lately, we've been reassured it's simply a combination of both being busy with pre-production of the next Mihmiverse film and being smack dab in the middle of the hottest month of the year!

For today, we have two updates:

1. A readthrough of the "Attack of the Moon Zombies" script took place this past Sunday and according to all accounts, was a grand success.

2. Discussions have heated up surrounding a possible all-five-Mihmiverse-films-Halloween-marathon fundraiser at the Grand Little Theatre in Eau Claire, Wisconsin! The event is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 30th. For now, we have very few details but, as with most things, as soon as we nail down specifics, we'll let you know!

Monday, August 2, 2010

Just posted the August Phantom Lake Almanac, the official newsletter of the films of Christopher R. Mihm. This month's issue includes the first ever-so-cryptic photo (that DEFINITELY has to be seen to be believed!) from "Attack of the Moon Zombies," a review of 1957's "The Saga of the Viking Women and their Voyage to the Waters of the Great Sea Serpent," an interview with associate producer Nathan "Spooky Noodle" Thomas, and much more! In sad news that will come as a shock to most, Brittany Hughes, the talented-beyond-words costumer that designed and constructed all the iconic costumes for "Cave Women on Mars" has been diagnosed with melanoma, one of the less common, though most problematic, forms of skin cancer.

What began as a mole on her inner thigh was removed a couple weeks ago and biopsied. Sadly, the results were not what she (or anyone) wanted to hear. Luckily, it appears they caught it relatively early and with treatment, her prognosis is good. We here at the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm wish her all the luck in the world and will be sending good vibes as she goes through this life-altering ordeal. We are trying to come up with some creative ways to do a little fundraising for Brittany and as soon as we do, we'll tell you all about it! In the meantime, if you'd like to send some happy wishes her way, send them to info@sainteuphoria.com and we'll forward them on for you! Get well soon, Brittany!

Lastly, we wanted to share the following photo with you. This was taken during filming of the second scene of "Cave Women on Mars" wherein Brittany was standing in for actors Josh Craig (Captain Jackson) and Dan Sjerven (Lt. Elliott) while they got dressed. Her purpose in this was to test the blue-screen effect and, as you can see, it wasn't what you'd call fun! Following that day's shoot, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm captured a still and added the snarky caption. Enjoy!

Cosutmer Brittany Hughes visits Mars and she's unimpressed

For the first time ever, the Mihmiverse will be at the Minnesota State Fair!

On the corner of Carnes Avenue and Chambers Street (in the fairgrounds, naturally) is a great little establishment called the Blue Moon Dine-in Theater. In a sea of fried and/or on-a-stick delicacies, the Blue Moon specializes in "sit down food" in an airy, shaded building filled with old car seats and benches facing a movie screen which features classic B-movies and television shows. We know what you're thinking: the perfect venue for writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's films, right? Thanks to the hard-work and persistence of super-fans (and occasional stars) Anthony Kaczor and Sid Korpi, the owners of the Blue Moon have agreed to include all five Mihmiverse films in this year's line-up of classics!

Also, and most exciting, they've decided to do a full-on "Mihm film festival" that would include a back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back screening of all five films and appearances by the stars and the director himself! As of right now, we don't have any specific details as to the exact date and time of this event, but rest assured, when we know, we'll let you know!

This year's Minnesota State Fair will run from August 26th through Labor Day so if you're planning a visit, make a point to stop in, try the excellent food, and catch a movie or two!

After numerous requests for more music by EchoDriver, (the musical moniker of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm responsible for both "A-Rockin', A-Rollin', All the Way A-Ramblin'" from "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and "Paddlin' Along" from "It Came From Another World!") we've been given permission to literally GIVE AWAY their last album! All eleven original tunes (plus two never-before-released bonus tracks) from the 2003 album "Moonlight" are free to download and share with anyone and everyone. The files can be found in (and downloaded from) the downloads section on the special features page. Or, simply click here to jump straight to the download!

In the last couple of days, two new reviews of "Destination: Outer Space" have appeared on the internets and both definitely lean toward the positive end! In fact, one is quite glowing in its praise of the latest Mihmiverse film! To check them out, visit the press page or click here to read Rogue Cinema's review or here to read blogger Jason Wittman's review. Both are worth reading though is should be noted that the Rogue Cinema article contains MAJOR SPOILERS! Consider yourself forewarned!

We just added the July Phantom Lake Almanac, the official newsletter of the films of Christopher R. Mihm. This month's issue includes the official "newsletter announcement" of the next Mihmiverse project, "Attack of the Moon Zombies," a review of 1953's "Cat Women of the Moon," an interview with the first "Attack of the Moon Zombies" associate producer (and über-fan) David Lund, and much more! As pre-production of "Attack of the Moon Zombies" continues, we have one little exciting bit of news to report: Shannon McDonough has accepted the part of Dr. Hackett in the film! This is Ms. McDonough's fourth time appearing in a Mihmiverse film but the first time playing someone other than Julie Ann Saint Marie. Not that Ms. McDonough's incredible acting talents wouldn't be enough, but we're told she is planning on going BLONDE to make sure there's no confusion between the two characters! NICE! As soon as we have photos, we'll post them here...

Who saw this coming!?

We woke up this morning to find a detailed message from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm instructing us to... (drum roll please) ...officially announce the title (and synopsis, cast list, etc.) of the next Mihmiverse film:

Apparently, Mr. Mihm has decided that for his next effort, he wants to return to "his first cinematic love:" MONSTER MOVIES! With "Attack of the Moon Zombies," he promises a return to the "scares and laughs" of his directorial debut, "The Monster of Phantom Lake!" Consider us intrigued by the notion!

"Attack of the Moon Zombies" takes place twenty years after the events of "Terror from Beneath the Earth" and concerns a character originally introduced in that film: Dr. Vincent Edwards (again played by the insanely talented Mike Cook). Living on a scientific outpost on the moon, Dr. Edwards is on the verge of retirement and a subsequent return to Earth. While training his replacement, the two stumble upon a seemingly impossible discovery: alien plant life on the lunar surface! Unfortunately, exposure to the spores of this otherworldly flora cause instant death. Too bad those killed by them don't stay dead and instead, want nothing more than to replicate!

For the first time, a Mihmiverse film will feature creature designs by someone other than writer/director Christopher R. Mihm. For "Attack of the Moon Zombies," those duties will be performed by the talented-as-heck Mitch Gonzales, who was last featured as multiple characters in "Destination: Outer Space" and is the man who designed and built Ge'off! We're told Mr. Mihm is still very much involved as a consultant in the design process and the final look will fit VERY WELL into the Mihmiverse pantheon of monsters!

"Attack of the Moon Zombies" features a recognizable cast of Mihmiverse regulars (including monster-of-all-trades Michael Kaiser) and a few new names. Apparently the movie has been in active development for a while and, should everything fall into place correctly, is tentatively scheduled to be released next spring -- just in time for the Memorial Day weekend at the Hi-way 18 Outdoor Theatre!

Lastly, in honor of this momentous announcement and because of the program's tremendous past success, we've also been given permission to sell associate producer credits!

For a small monetary investment, all associate producers will be entitled to having a name of their choosing listed in the closing credits of the new film, five (5) copies of the finished film on DVD, a pair of collector's tickets to the premiere, and a customized, framable document certifying their participation in the program! If you missed out last time on this very cool program, now's your chance to jump onboard and become a part of Mihmiverse history! Don't delay!

Received and posted the first "official" review of "Destination: Outer Space" from Australia based Synergy Magazine. The review is more extended synopsis than anything BUT it is quite clear that the reviewer LOVED the film. Check it out from the press page or by clicking here to read it straightaway!

Since we recently ran out of Oculon action figures, we've added two new collectibles to the merchandise page: creature designer/executive producer/actor Mitch Gonzales' hand-made set of four "Mihmiverse Magnets" and a signed, limited-edition "Monsters of the Mihmiverse" T-shirt! Both are available in EXTREMELY limited quantities so it is highly recommended you order RIGHT NOW because there is no telling how long they'll be in stock!

We've just posted the June Phantom Lake Almanac, the official newsletter of the films of Christopher R. Mihm. This month's issue includes a wrap-up and a nice collection of photos from both the "Destination: Outer Space" world premiere and it's Memorial Day weekend drive-in debut. Also included is information on the next rare Mihmiverse collectible, a review of 1962's "Panic in Year Zero," and much more! Check it out!

If you'd like to be notified when we post our monthly newsletter, sign our guestbook above and make sure the "I want to receive updates..." box is checked!

Also, we've added a bunch of stuff to the press section including a review of "Destination: Outer Space" written by blogger (and new Mihmiverse star) Mitch Obrecht (B'Kee), a follow-up to the Minneapolis-St. Paul StarTribune article from April 21st, AND the full audio of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's recent interview with Cult Radio A-Go-Go! Enjoy!

Whereas last year it took us a full day to recover from the awesomeness that was the "Terror from Beneath the Earth" premiere, it took us a full TWO DAYS to recover from the sheer Mihmiverse bliss that was last Tuesday's "Destination: Outer Space" premiere (and yesterday's fun and funny Dr. Cryptosis hosted screening of "The Monster of Phantom Lake")!

As you can see, we've posted a cool marquee photo from the premiere that clearly shows the line that formed outside as people eagerly waited to get in to the ultimately packed auditorium. The night was raucous and fun and was the best attended Mihmiverse premiere to date! The general consensus is that the film is amazing and every moment of hard work writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and the cast and crew put into the final product is evident in every frame of the finished film! If you weren't there, you missed what will probably go down in history as one of the GREATEST nights in the whole of the Mihmiverse!

Now, we're gearing up for a weekend of "Destination: Outer Space" at the Hi-way 18 Outdoor Theatre in Jefferson, Wisconsin! As soon as we get back, we'll go through all the photos we've amassed at all these events and post a bunch for all to see!

PREMIERE DAY!

The big world premiere of "Destination: Outer Space" is TONIGHT! This is your chance to experience the film before the rest of the world, and enjoy a program complete with era-appropriate newsreels and trailers, appearances by most (if not all) of the cast and crew, and free cake, autographs and photos with characters from the film. Don't forget to bring your camera! DVDs, posters and other Mihmiverse merchandise will also be on sale at the event.

This once-in-a-lifetime event is open to the public. The film is family friendly, though not aimed specifically at children. Some frightening thematic elements, mild language and violence, and scenes of alcohol use may be inappropriate for very young children. The movie is unrated but if it were to receive a rating, it would be PG.

Tickets WILL BE available at the door. Currently, just over half of the theater is sold out! Due to high interest, the doors will open a little early -- around 6:30PM (the show starts at 7:30 PM) -- so don't delay in getting there if you want to get in!

Hope to see you there!

"Destination: Outer Space" World Premiere
Doors at 6:30PM, movie at 7:30PM ($5.00 at the door)

The Heights Theatre
3951 Central Avenue NE
Columbia Heights, Minnesota 55421

P.S. Due to a lack of organist availability, there is a high probability that the WCCO Mighty Wurlizter will NOT be played this evening (as was previously reported). We're still hoping to come through with an organist but, as of press time, it's not looking good! We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause -- we're just as disappointed (possibly more) as you are!

Lastly, the winner of our online referral contest is: über-fan SID KORPI! Congratulations, Sid! Sid has won a Mihmiverse prize package containing DVDs of all five films, an autographed "Destination: Outer Space" poster, a MARS-1 patch, a Canoe Corps patch, a set of Oculon action figures, and a special exclusive piece of Mihmiverse history: Stan Johnson's flashlight from "Terror from Beneath the Earth!"

Friday, May 21, 2010

We just posted the texts of two articles about the big world premiere of "Destination: Outer Space" on the press page. The first is a short article originally found on MinnPost.com and the other is a lengthy interview with writer/director Christopher R. Mihm done by MNFilmTV blogger Rebecca Collins. Check them out, their both worth reading -- especially the interview as it contains some new information AND a photo from the making of "Destination: Outer space" that has never been available to the public before now!

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Advance tickets to next Tuesday's world premiere of "Destination: Outer Space" are NO LONGER AVAILABLE! As was previously reported, tickets WILL BE available at the door (only $5.00 each!), albeit almost two thirds of the theater sold out in advance! Doors will open around 6:45PM (the show starts at 7:30PM) so if you get there a little early, you stand a pretty good chance of getting in.

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Lots of fun stuff to report today! With the premiere just ONE WEEK AWAY, the "Destination: Outer Space" DVD is here and available for pre-order! The disc contains a high-quality transfer of the new film, a blooper reel, trailers, previews, a photo gallery, film introduction by horror host Dr. Ivan Cryptosis, and a feature-length commentary with writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and actors Josh Craig, Mitch Gonzales, and Michael Kaiser. The DVD is only $9.99 (plus $2.50 shipping and handling) and will ship on the date of the film's premiere (May 25th, 2010). If you can't make it to the world premiere of the film, this is the best way to get your hands on one as soon as possible! Check out the merchandise page to pre-order yours today!

Speaking of the fast-approaching premiere, to allow for enough shipping time for last-minute purchasers to receive their collector's tickets, advance tickets will cease to be available at exactly 11:59PM CDT TONIGHT! There WILL BE tickets available at the door, albeit almost two thirds of the theater is already sold out! The doors will open around 6:45PM (the show starts at 7:30PM) so if you get there a little early, you have a pretty good chance of getting in. However, the ONLY way to absolutely guarantee entry is by purchasing advance tickets!

To promote next week's event, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm will appear as a guest on Cult Radio A-Go-Go this Saturday, May 22nd, at 11:00PM CDT. Cult Radio A-Go-Go is the only cult genre internet radio station, featuring 24 long hours of rare unique cult programming, on 365 days a year! The program is broadcast live on the internet every Saturday and available afterward from their website. Don't miss it!

Executive producer/actor/creature designer Mitch Gonzales has put his tremendous talents to work to create the next in the line of rare collectibles: a set of four Mihmiverse refrigerator magnets! Half the set is pictured here and includes both the monster from "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and the mutant bat from "Terror from Beneath the Earth." A.D.A.M. and an Oculon from "Destination: Outer Space" will round out the set. The magnets won't be available until after the premiere BUT, we're told that Mr. Gonzales himself will be selling a limited number of them at the event! So, if you're going to be there, get in the merchandise line early (immediately following the film) if you want to get your hands on a set!

Lastly, superfan/associate producer/actress/author/ordained minister Sid Korpi has published a fun article about her discovery of (and subsequent obsession with) the Mihmiverse at AtomicMonsters.com! It's a highly entertaining read AND we've posted the entire text of it on the press page. Or, if you'd prefer, click here to read it right now!

The Monsters of the Mihmiverse!
In honor of the milestone fifth Mihmiverse film, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has created a brand new Mihmiverse shirt -- and it has got to be the coolest one EVER! Pictured at left, the image on the shirt was drawn by the same artist who designed the "Destination: Outer Space" poster: TheDarkCloak. The shirt depicts five stylized monsters, one from each of the first five Mihmiverse films: "The Monster of Phantom Lake," "It Came From Another World!," "Cave Women on Mars," "Terror from Beneath the Earth" and "Destination: Outer Space." It is currently available to order at the Saint Euphoria Zazzle store and comes in both white and black. We're told that writer/director Christopher R. Mihm is trying to have a small assortment of sizes made to be sold at the premiere. As of right now, it's not certain if they'll be available in time for the event, but when we find out either way, we'll let you know!

With just two weeks to go before the world premiere of "Destination: Outer Space," the excitement is beginning to reach a fever pitch! With such a short time left, advance tickets to the premiere will remain on sale for only ONE MORE WEEK! There are still a handful of collector's tickets available so if you order quickly (RIGHT NOW), you may still be able to get your hands on a pair! Remember, these are individually numbered, one-of-a-kind collectibles that will only be available to the lucky few who get them. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait to pay exorbitant prices on eBay -- if they're EVER available! Also, it is important to note that there WILL BE tickets available at the door. Unfortunately, how many is dependent entirely on how many advance tickets sell within the next seven days!

Lastly, the "Destination: Outer Space" DVDs are complete, packaged, and en route to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm! They're expected to arrive at some point near the end of the week, so breathe a sigh of relief Mihmiverse fans -- DVDs WILL BE available at the premiere and thereafter!

Saturday, May 1, 2010

We've just posted the May Phantom Lake Almanac, the official newsletter of the films of Christopher R. Mihm. This month, we focus heavily on the big "Destination: Outer Space" world premiere (only weeks away!), and include an interview with "superfan" and associate producer Evan Kozinski, a review of 1962's "Journey to the Seventh Planet," and much more! Check it out!

If you'd like to be notified when we post our monthly newsletter, sign our guestbook above and make sure the "I want to receive updates..." box is checked!

Advance ticket prices for the world premiere of "Destination: Outer Space" have been reduced to $7.50 each because we have sold out of this year's exclusive gift: a framed and signed piece of the set of the exterior of Captain Jackson's rocket! Congratulations to all those lucky fans that managed to nab one in time! Also, let this be a lesson to all the stragglers out there; admission to this event is selling quickly! What are you waiting for? Buy your advance tickets NOW before they're gone!

Monday, April 26, 2010

The official poster for "Destination: Outer Space" is now IN STOCK and available for purchase! Measuring 11"x17", the main image of the poster was designed by the obscenely talented artist TheDarkCloak. To purchase yours RIGHT THIS INSTANT, visit the posters section of the merchandise page!

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

The Minneapolis-St. Paul StarTribune just posted the text of great article about "Destination: Outer Space" and all the associate producers that came to its rescue! It's a great (and endearingly funny) read that includes a unique photo of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm posing with a couple character masks from the new film. We highly recommend checking it out HERE or by visiting the new "Destination: Outer Space" section of the press page!

Also, we've finally been informed what the special gift included in every "Destination: Outer Space" world premiere advance ticket package is! This year's collector's item is a framed piece of the set of the exterior of Captain Jackson's rocket as seen in the new film! And, this exclusive piece of Mihmiverse history will be signed by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm! If you're a Mihmiverse completist, you won't want to miss out on this cool collectible that'll look right at home next to your signed and framed piece of the monster costume from "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and your signed and framed piece of the cave set from "Terror from Beneath the Earth!"

Saturday, April 17, 2010

Ask and you shall receive! Due to a deluge of emails from interested Mihmiverse fans, we've already been given permission to begin selling the Oculon action figures! Handmade personally by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, this set of Oculon action figures features one of each Oculon type as seen in "Destination: Outer Space." The figures measure 4 and a half and five inches tall respectively, with the "non-firing" Oculon sporting a club accessory. Limited to a VERY SMALL amount (less than 25 sets!), each set sells for $19.99 -- and shipping is free! Limited to two (2) sets per order. Buy yours NOW because once they're gone, they will NEVER be available again! Visit the merchandise page to order yours TODAY!

Also, the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards were announced and sadly, "Terror from Beneath the Earth" did not win. However, as they say, it's an honor just to be nominated! Congratulations to the winners and a special thanks to all the Mihmiverse fans that voted. And hey, with "Destination: Outer Space" coming out soon, there's always next year!

ACTION FIGURES!

Oculon Action Figures!
This has to be the COOLEST thing writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has ever sent us. Yes, you are looking at a pair of "Oculon" creatures (from "Destination: Outer Space") in action figure form! Though Mr. Mihm's films pay homage to the 1950s, to any kid growing up in the 1970s and '80s, nothing screams movie memorabilia like action figures -- especially "Star Wars!" Since "Destination: Outer Space" has repeatedly been described as the Mihmiverse's "1950s-B-movie Star Wars," it was only a matter of time before an action figure or two showed up! And yes, these are real -- however, handmade by Mr. Mihm himself. Regardless of their non-mass-produced-ness, color us impressed!

We've inquired as to whether or not these were simply "personal project one-offs" and were told an emphatic "no!" Instead, Mr. Mihm has indicated that he has received several inquiries from Mihmiverse collectors looking for rare and unusual merchandise. As an answer to them, these sweet action figures are what he came up with! Based on a simpler prototype created originally by Josh Craig (of Captain and Professor Jackson fame), these action figures represent the two Oculon "varieties" seen in the forthcoming film. According to Mr. Mihm, these are the first in a line of rare collectibles, each to be made available in EXTREMELY small quantities and sold exclusively through this site. We're told future rare collectibles may include plush versions of the monsters of the Mihmiverse, prop replicas, and more! The Oculon action figures will be available as a set of the two shown, cost only $19.99, and shipping will be free!

Mr. Mihm asked us if we would try to gauge interest in these cool-as-hell collectibles so he has a good idea how many he needs to make! If you're interested, send us an email and let us know!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

We've finalized an event previously mentioned in this month's Phantom Lake Almanac and added it to the screenings page! As a way to keep your Mihmiverse buzz alive after the big premiere of "Destination: Outer Space," the Mounds Theatre will be screening "The Monster of Phantom Lake" the day after the premiere! The film will be hosted in person by horror host Dr. Ivan Cryptosis (recently featured on the "Terror from Beneath the Earth" DVD) and the night will include appearances by Mihmiverse stars past and present, contests for merchandise, and much more! Admission is $5.00 with doors at 7:00pm and the movie at 7:30pm. This event is open to the public. Check out the screenings page for more information.

Also, the finalized DVD for "Destination: Outer Space" is in the hands of the replication service! The turn-around for the disc is roughly twenty-one business days, with an estimated arrival time of May 6th. Thus, the discs WILL BE available at the premiere AND available for pre-order from this site VERY SOON!

Happy Cave Women Day!
Happy Cave Women Day!

Two years ago on April 12th, 2008, "Cave Women on Mars" premiered at the Heights Theatre to a large, highly receptive crowd. The entire cast and crew was there to take in the show and good times were had by all!

With the premiere of "Destination: Outer Space" less than two months away and the fact that the new film's main character, Captain Jackson (Josh Craig), was first introduced in "Cave Women on Mars," it seems to give today a little more weight! So don't forget to drink some wine made from the fermented milk of the Torgo beast and eat some co-loe fruit in honor of this magnificent day!

Friday, April 2, 2010

We've just posted this month's Phantom Lake Almanac, the official newsletter of the films of Christopher R. Mihm. This month, we focus on "Destination: Outer Space" and its ever-expanding list of upcoming screenings, an interview with the owners of the Stardust Drive-in Movie Theater, (central Wisconsin's best drive-in!) associate producers Paul and Marlys Javener, a review of 1957's "The Unearthly," and much more! Check it out!

If you'd like to be notified when we post our monthly newsletter, sign our guestbook above and make sure the "I want to receive updates..." box is checked!

The poster for "Destination: Outer Space" is finally here and all we can say is WOW!

Destination: Outer Space
Designed by the ridiculously talented artist known as TheDarkCloak, the image is instantly reminiscent of classic sci-fi posters, particularly the work of renowned poster-design guru Drew Struzan. The poster depicts several never-before seen characters and creatures from the new film, including some that have only been glimpsed in the official trailer.

Needless to say, we are absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the unbelieveable AWESOMENESS of the poster. I think we can all honestly agree that every true Mihmiverse fan has already cleared space on their wall for this incredible piece of art and CANNOT WAIT until posters are available for purchase! And, when they are ready, we will have them for you to order!

In other news, we've been informed that writer/director Christopher R. Mihm spent a couple hours yesterday afternoon recording commentary for the forthcoming DVD. Joining him was longtime collaborator (and star of "Destination: Outer Space") Josh Craig (Captain Jackson) and, for the first time ever, monster-of-all-trades Michael Kaiser and the new monster on the block, Mitch Gonzales.

We're told the commentary is quite entertaining, with each person sharing many insightful stories and anecdotes about the development of the film from conception to completion and everything in between.

Also, and quite importantly, the DVD will soon be available for pre-order! As soon as it is, we'll let you know!

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

"Destination: Outer Space" is complete with writer/director Christopher R. Mihm having signed off on the finalized film just yesterday! The soon-to-be-released fifth Mihmiverse film clocks in at 94 exciting minutes, making it the second longest just behind "The Monster of Phantom Lake." Mr. Mihm has already begun authoring the DVD and promises to have it done in plenty of time before the big premiere in May!

Of which, advance tickets to the world premiere of "Destination: Outer Space" are already selling fast! If you haven't purchased yours yet, now would be a good time!

Happy Monster Day!
Happy Monster Day!

It was exactly four years ago on March 9th, 2006 that "The Monster of Phantom Lake" held it's world premiere at the Heights Theatre to a near-sold-out crowd. As early as that night, the film began to receive positive press and would go on to receive tons more. Since it's release, it has screened across the world, appearing in over a dozen film festivals and earning handfuls of awards.

Dubbed "the little movie that could," "The Monster of Phantom Lake" is where the Mihmiverse officially began, introducing the ever-growing fan base to such staples as the Jackson family, "A-Rockin', A-Rollin', All the Way A-Ramblin'," the Canoe Cops, the "flashlight thing," and much, much more! How many Mihmiverse "quirks" will end up in the final version of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next film "Destination: Outer Space?" We'll just have to wait until May to find out!

Either way, it's definitely worth noting that without "The Monster of Phantom Lake" being unleashed not-so-long-ago, we would never have been introduced to such an enduring and endearing universe! So, pass it on and tell everyone you know: "HAPPY MONSTER DAY!"

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Continuing a now five-years-long tradition, the newest Mihmiverse film, "Destination: Outer Space," will screen over Memorial Day weekend at eastern Wisconsin's greatest drive-in, the Hi-way 18 Outdoor Theater! The retro outer-space epic will screen as the third film of a triple-feature alongside both "How to Train Your Dragon" and "Shrek Forever After!" It should be noted that this screening is only possible through the overwhelming generosity of the drive-in's owner/operator, Lee Burgess. Thank you, Mr. Burgess! To keep up with all the screenings of Mihmiverse films both old and new, check out the screenings page!

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

We've just posted this month's Phantom Lake Almanac, the official newsletter of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, which includes information about the "Destination: Outer Space" world premiere, an interview with Minnesota-based writer and associate producer Jennifer Goloboy (including links to a couple pieces of her work that are highly recommended!), a review of 1959's "Missle to the Moon," and much more! Check it out!

If you'd like to be notified when we post our monthly newsletter, sign our guestbook above and make sure the "I want to receive updates..." box is checked!

Monday, March 1, 2010

March has arrived and with it, some truly GREAT "Destination: Outer Space" news! First, advance tickets to the May 25th, 2010 premiere of the film ARE NOW ON SALE! For just $10 you will receive admission to the premiere itself, an individually numbered collector's ticket and an as-yet-to-be-determined special gift! We've been told what it MIGHT be and even if the final exclusive gift is only HALF as cool, it'll DEFINITELY be worth the miniscule amount of extra cash! Go to the events section of the merchandise page to get your premiere tickets now!

Also, after Saturday's wonderfully fun and exciting "Destination: Outer Space" trailer release party, we've been given permission to post the trailer for all to see! Check it out below!

Lastly, it must be noted that the associate producer program is no longer available. Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm would like to thank each and every person that stepped up and donated their time and money toward making "Destination: Outer Space" a reality! Hopefully we'll see you all at the premiere!

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

As of 12:30AM on this date, principal photography for "Destination: Outer Space" is FINALLY complete! The last shot involved star Josh Craig (Captain Jackson) laying on the ground for a special effects sequence meant to show his character floating in space. Beginning on June 28th, 2009, the full shoot for the film was three times longer than any previously made by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm! We've been told that although the premiere is only three months away, there is ample time to finish the film on time as Mr. Mihm has been editing since the very first day of the shoot!

Also, a new quite-positive review of "Terror from Beneath the Earth" appeared yesterday on the horror website Dread Central. The reviewer seems to have enjoyed the film quite a bit, specifically mentioning Mike Cook's performance as Dr. Vincent Edwards as a particular high point. If you'd like to read it, we've posted the full text of the review on the press page.

A big day for updates!

"Terror from Beneath the Earth" has been nominated for a Rondo Award for Best Independent Production (film, documentary or short)! This is the eigth year Rondo Awards have been given and the first time one of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's films has been nominated. The Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards were created by David Colton and Kerry Gammill at the Classic Horror Film Boards in 2002. The awards are fan-based, and have no connection to any commercial sponsor. Winners of Rondo Awards receive a miniature bust of Rondo Hatton as seen in the classic 1946 Universal film "House of Horrors."

ANYONE CAN VOTE FOR THE WINNERS and it is extremely easy to do!

To vote, go to http://rondoaward.com/rondo/rondos.html and copy and paste the ballot into an email. Fill out as much of the ballot as you wish and then simply send it to organizer David Colton at taraco@aol.com. That's it! Happy voting!

In other news, the premiere date for "Destination: Outer Space" is now set in stone! Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has signed the contract with the Heights Theatre and everything is a GO! Advance tickets for the big event will go on sale exactly one week from today on Monday, March 1st. In the meantime, space is still available for the big "Destination: Outer Space" trailer release party on Saturday, February 27th at Tillie's Bean in Minneapolis. Visit the merchandise page now to purchase your tickets before they sell out!

Lastly, we've added a new section to the special features page: FAN FICTION! Right now there is only one selection, "Professor Jackson Versus the Prince of the Universe," a direct sequel to "It Came From Another World!," written in script form by the "King of the Superfans," Mitch Obrecht. It's a fast and fun read and the author captured the spirit of the Mihmiverse perfectly -- he was even able to fit in a "Ghostbusters" reference! Check it out today!

We would love to expand our library of fan fiction. If you have fan fiction (or art) you'd like to see on this site, send it to fanfic@sainteuphoria.com and, if we like it, you might just see it here!

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

It's been brought to our attention by none other than Mitch Gonzales (creature designer extraordinaire and jack-of-all-trades monster man) that the date for the big premiere of "Destination: Outer Space" is the EXACT SAME date the original "Star Wars" opened in 1977! We asked writer/director Christopher R. Mihm about this and he assured us it was completely by accident -- he simply took the first available day the Heights Theatre had available the week before Memorial Day! Since Mr. Mihm has been has been describing the new film as his B-movie version of "Star Wars," we can only imagine this bodes well for the final product! May certainly can't arrive fast enough!

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Destination: Outer Space
We have just been informed that a date for the big world premiere of "Destination: Outer Space" has been set: Tuesday, May 25th, 2010 at 7:00PM! And, once again, the big event will take place at the historic Heights Theatre, located just north of Minneapolis, Minnesota! Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has confirmed that the contract for that date and venue is signed and ready to go, and will be finalized within the week!

Once the premiere date IS set in stone, we have been given permission to start selling advance tickets! Stay tuned...

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

We just updated the "Destination: Outer Space" page to include the name of the FORTIETH associate producer! Unbelieveable! We here at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, want to thank all of you for making this newest film possible. "Destination: Outer Space" is shaping up to be THE BEST Mihmiverse film yet. We've been privileged to see some of the finished footage and it is simply head-and-shoulders above anything that has come before and you, the associate producers, are the ones that made it all possible! THANK YOU!

Also, horror blog site Fatally Yours just posted a great interview with Mihmiverse regular (and accomplished actor, director and screenwriter) Rachel Grubb (Amy/Hagra). It's a great read and in it she specifically discusses her thoughts about and motivations for her signature role of Hagra in "Cave Women on Mars." It's worth a read! Check it out HERE.

Monday, February 1, 2010

We've just posted the newest Phantom Lake Almanac, the official newsletter of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, which includes a new image from this year's "Destination: Outer Space," an interview with associate producer and self-proclaimed "number one fan" Diane Perrault, a review of another classic movie (1961's "The Phantom Planet"), and much more! Check it out!

If you'd like to be notified when we post our monthly newsletter, sign our guestbook above and make sure the "I want to receive updates..." box is checked!

Also, we have a very cool event to announce! In conjunction with Minneapolis-based "mom n' pop" coffee house Tillie's Bean, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm will be debuting the official trailer for "Destination: Outer Space" at a very special "trailer premiere" event! On Saturday, February 27th, Tillie's Bean will open the doors at its newest location near the Uptown area of Minneapolis at 7:00pm, and everyone in attendance will be treated to a night of Mihmiverse (and all-around classic B-movie) fun. Festivities and hospitalities will include beer, popcorn, retro B-movie trivia, the unveiling of the official "Destination: Outer Space" trailer, an exclusive one-time-only screening of a full scene from the new film, AND last but not least, a screening of "Cave Women on Mars," the movie that inspired the new film! Tillie's Bean staff will be on hand to sell coffee and other foodstuffs while writer/director Christopher R. Mihm will be selling DVDs and other merchandise. Plus, other select Mihmiverse stars will be there to schmooze and sign autographs!

Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets are currently available on the merchandise page. Since beer is included in the price of admission, everyone who attends MUST BE at least 21 years old with a valid I.D. Because of the size of the space, seating is EXTREMELY limited, so DO NOT HESITATE or risk being left out! Half the proceeds go toward a great local employer, Tillie's Bean, and the other half will be invested right back into production of the films themselves! So come on down, support a great local business and be the first amongst your friends to experience a taste of what will surely be THE best movie of 2010, "Destination: Outer Space!"

We've just been informed that writer/director Christopher R. Mihm will be debuting the trailer for "Destination: Outer Space" at a special benefit party at the end of February for Minneapolis coffee shop Tillie's Bean. "Cave Women on Mars" will also be screened AND, as an extra special treat, everyone in attendance will get to see an exclusive scene from the new film! As of right now, we don't have any more information than that BUT we've been reassured that within the next couple days, we'll know everything!

Look closely and you may notice that this page is considerably shorter than it was a day ago. That's because, now that it's 2010, we've archived all the news from 2009 to make sure that this page never gets too long or unwieldy. Plus, with all the exciting things about to happen in the Mihmiverse, we're going to need the extra space! As always, you can view all the archived news by visiting the links at the bottom of this page. Also, for all those interested in experiencing the entirety of the Mihmiverse's history, we are in the process of making available ALL the news entries since the very first one made back in 2006 as we prepared for the soon-to-be-released "The Monster of Phantom Lake!" Stay tuned...

Here's a fun little item that we stumbled across while surfing the internets. Apparently, "The Monster of Phantom Lake" has been included on a "Best of the Decade" list over at movie site Film School Rejects! Granted, once you check it out, it's not as big of a deal as we'd hoped. Still, as they say, it's an honor just to be nominated! Check it out here!

We've just posted the first issue of the Phantom Lake Almanac, the official newsletter of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, for the new year! In this issue we take a look back at all the exciting things that happened in the Mihmiverse last year. We also interview associate producer (and now star of "Destination: Outer Space") Mitch Gonzales, review another classic movie of the month (1960's "The Angry Red Planet"), and much more! Check it out!

If you'd like to be notified when we post our monthly newsletter, sign our guestbook above and make sure the "I want to receive updates..." box is checked!

Happy New Year!

Another year has come and gone -- and what a year it was! In addition to the release of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's latest critically-acclaimed and award-winning film, "Terror from Beneath the Earth," the year-that-was saw the beginning of production on the BIGGEST Mihmiverse film ever: "Destination: Outer Space!"

Principal photography on the grand space epic began in June and continues to this day, with five scenes still remaining to be shot but scheduled to go before cameras before the end of January. Also, a total of fifty-two minutes of the new fan-funded film has been edited and is complete.

"Destination: Outer Space" is on track to debut in the spring -- fingers crossed -- with the big premiere date tentatively scheduled for May 28th. Unfortunately, nothing is set in stone (especially since the film is still incomplete) but as soon as it is, we will let you know! In the meantime, we here at the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm hope you (and your loved ones) have a healthy, happy, and productive year! Cheers!
